THE CONCEPT OF FAITH IS A FICKLED AND FUNNY IDEA. AS A YOUNG CHILD WE USUALLY BELIEVE WHATEVER OUR PARENTS TELL OR TEACH US. OUR FAITH IN WHAT THEY SAY MAY GRADUALLY DIMINISH, BUT OUR LOVE FOR THEM REMAINS. WE ALL EXERCISE FAITH ON A REGULAR BASIS. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ALWAYS FIRST UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING WE BELIEVE TO BE TRUE PRIOR TO FULLY ACCEPTING IT. OUR FOUNDATION AS CHILDREN IS FOUNDED, ESTABLISHED AND BASED ON SIMPLY "BELIEVING." FAITH IS NOT BLIND, NOR DOES FAITH REQUIRE TANGIBLE PROOFS. FAITH IS FORMED AND BUILT UPON AN INVISIBLE SUBSTANCE NOT EVIDENCED BY PHYSICAL AND TANGIBLE SIGNS. "BELIEVERS" NEED TO REALIZE THAT MANY OF OUR RELIGIOUS THEMES ARE AS FANTASTIC AS FOLKLORE AND FEEL AS FAKE AS A COLD FIRE. THE IDEA THAT THERE IS AN INVISIBLE ALL POWERFUL, ALL KNOWING AND OMNIPRESENT GOD IN LIGHT OF HOW THINGS ARE, SEEMS TO DEFY COMMON SENSE. THE BEST ARGUEMENT AGAINST SUCH AN IDEA IS THAT GOD CREATED CHAOS AND CANNOT CONTROL IT. IT'S OBVIOUS THAT THINGS ARE OUT OF CONTROL. IT'S NOT DIFFICULT TO DOUBT THE EXISTENENCE OF GOD BASED ON CURRENT CONDITIONS. THE AMBIGIOUS PHRASE THAT "GOD IS IN CONTROL,"  CONTRIBUTES TO OUR MISCONCEPTION OF HOW THE UNIVERSE ACTUALLY OPERATES. ALTHOUGH GOD HAS ALL POWER, GOD HAS GIVEN AUTHORITY TO US. THINK OF HOW RIDICULOUS IT IS TO BELIEVE THAT A PERFECT ALL POWERFUL AND ALL KNOWIN GOD COULD ORCHESTRATE SUCH A CHAOTIC MESS. IMAGINE HOW WE WOULD FEEL IF WE HAD CREATED A PERFECTLY BALANCED AND HARMONIOUS ENVIRONMENT, PLACED GOD-LIKE INHABITANTS WITHIN TO RULE AND THEY BLAMED AND CURSED US FOR THEIR MISMANAGEMENT. 

Is it rational to believe that one man along with his family built a ship (ARK) large enough to accommodate two of every species? Shouldn't this be classified as the greatest zoological undertaking of all time? How did they build such a large vessel? How many decades did it take? How did they feed all of the creatures on board? And what kept them from devouring and fighting one another? Isn't it easier to accept that aliens came to earth and assisted in building the Egyptian Pyramids? A planetary flood that also covered mountain tops would require crazy conditions, extraordinary circumstances and exceptional phenomena to defy physic and science. It has to either be a MYTH or a MIRACLE! The problems with miracles is that they require no proof! Faith isn't blind, sometimes it's just invisible.

​THE STORIES WE ACCEPT FROM HOLY WRIT RUN NECK AND NECK WITH THE FAIRYTALES AND FABLES READ FROM STORYBOOKS. MANY RELIGIOUS WRITINGS AND HISTORICAL MYTHOLOGIES SHARE SIMILAR THREADS IN HOW THEY DESCRIBE MANS ORIGIN. IT'S HARD TO KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE OR DOUBT. EVEN THE CONCEPT OF EXERCISING FAITH DEFIES COMMON SENSE AND APPEARS TO BE AS FANATICAL OR RIDICULOUS AS BELIEVING IN THE EASTER BUNNY, THE GREAT PUMPKIN OR SANTA CLAUS. THE BIBLE ALSO DECLRES THAT ALL MEN HAVE NOT FAITH! YET BELIEVING IN GOD AND/OR ADOPTING A SUPERSTITION ARE A FACINATING AND INTRICAL ASPECT OF ALL OF OUR EXISTENCE. THERE HAS TO BE A REASON FOR EVERYTHING. IF NOT A NATURAL, THEN THERE MUST BE A SUPERNATURAL REASON FOR BEING. BELIEVING PHENOMENAL THINGS REQUIRES INCREDIBLE NIEVETY OR SPECTACULAR INSIGHT. IN A DATA DRIVEN TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED SOCIETY HOW CAN WE EMBRACE ANY BELIEF WITHOUT SCIENTIFIC PROOF? THERE IS A WAY FOR FAITH TO TRANSCEND FACT IN SPITE OF LOGIC. IT'S SPIRITUAL INTUITION'S DEFIANCE OF COMMON SENSE. PERHAPS THIS IS THAT.

EPISTOMOLGY-A THEORY OF KNOWLEDGE DETERMINING AND JUSTIFYING BELIEF FROM OPINION

All adopted beliefs are colored by our individual perspectives. Our Perspectives are developed from a balance of three factors. These are namely our individual experiences (personal history), our various influences (environment/culture) and any of our new or present information (learning). Our personal perspectives can easily be regarded as particular attitudes, feelings toward, or ways of, seeing things. Most of the time perspectives should not be categorized as right or wrong. They cannot be considered as absolute conclusions or immutable truths. Perspectives are like pictures or artwork. The beauty of seeing something in a particular way is simply considered a point of view. Perspectives are generally based on the way we mentally, physically or tangibly "see" something. This has a major effect on our perceptions towards how we interpret, regard and understand multiple things. Perceptions are our mental impressions derived from how we explicate the signals our senses send us. Perceptions can easily become reality when what we think becomes a belief whether it is factual or not! Many of us cater our behaviors towards other people based on what we think we perceive they feel or think about us. Some of us operate as if we're mind readers. This is one of the ways we create biases and form perspectives. Any judgments we make based solely upon limited perspective are very likely to be flawed. We can only ASSUME that our point of view is right. The amount and the extent of the information we are privy to determines the limited scope used to arrive at some of our biased and generally flawed personal conclusions. When we are influenced by a force that can alter both our perception and perspectives while simultaneously violating the principles and tenets of common sense, a scope that in fact includes hope, perhaps this is that!

A SCOPE MUST BE INCLUSIVE AS SENSES ARE TO PERCEPTION AND AS SIGHT IS TO VISION

"That" includes a wide scope of possibilities. The scope of something, is the extent of the area or subject matter that it deals with or to which it is relevant. It does not matter whether we utilize horoscopes, microscopes or telescopes to obtain and process information. As long as the data and facts from whatever source we utilize are accurate, extensive and all inclusive the scope is covered. One of the main problems we face today is our failure to consider the significance of spiritual principles influencing our NATURAL environment. It is not possible to understand the scope of NATURAL phenomena without considering if and how supernatural phenomena affects its behaviors. Because society fails to acknowledge the spiritual dimension of human existence we are limited as to how to address many of life's issues. The apathy and atrocities that operate among intelligent men is similar to the survival instincts seen in "SOME" species of animals that eat their own kind. This is that part of  life that seems mysterious and uncertain. There is no way to explicitly describe spiritual attributes by comparing them with NATURAL characteristics. Science is the application of knowledge used to follow a systematic methodology of applying fact. Science allows us to derive an enhanced understanding of how any aspect of life operates. Science has a spiritual side to it that is often ignored. There is a science to spirituality which integrates all of the individual sciences into a unified system that describes our relationship in the universe. Conventional science falls short of defining paranormal phenomena and inexplicable mysteries. Even scientists are forced to use descriptive labels like "Black Holes" when the evidence only reveals a "blank slate. Before mankind ever became so intellectual and technical we were much more superstitious and spiritual. Traditional education has advanced our world and society in ways few could have anticipated. Although much of our progress has allowed us to achieve many wonderful advancements for mankind, the double-edged sword of development has somehow left a significant piece of our spiritual NATURAL behind. A clinical analysis would reveal that our spiritual growth has been stunted. Science and technology is not new. The "technology of science" always has been and will continue to be at the forefront of mans evolution. Science is a systematically arranged and organized body of knowledge about any subject. While Technology should be simply defined as the application of such information and knowledge. Therefore it should stand to reason that we can now conclude that neither science nor technology are confined to only physics, electronics, machines or tangible matter. There is a science of spirit, an invisible empire of substance, the energy of life containing the glue that holds everything together. Like gravity it has a force, like magnetism it's presence has a pull, we sense and feel it like wind and it can spread like fire in the shapeless way of flowing water. Putting all of these attributes together barely describes SPIRIT. Whether we acknowledge it or not the foundation of LIFE is spirit. The underlying force behind our attitudes and behaviors are spirit. Our attitude towards, behavior by, or feelings about life affects the spirit in which it occurs. Our individual spirit, "the spirit of man," represents our own personal consciousness that is connected to and shared with the universal consciousness which also forms and shapes our societal values. In these posts on this blog we look at things first spiritually: not because they can be visibly seen, but because through "spirituality" (spiritual eyes) we can see everything more clearly. With such vision we can imagine things incapable of seeing but possible to believe. Man's imagination has no limits. We can conclude that the "greatest" technological breakthrough will be revolutionary. When even artificial intelligence and robots become smart enough to recognize our ultimate energy source, they too will reach the conclusion that the spiritual world exists. This will be based on the fact that life emanates from there. The scientific logic of unsubstantiated proof is evidence enough of the spirit world. Yes, science will ultimately prove that the spirit world does exist!

THE PROOF IS IN THE PRACTICE JUST LIKE IT'S IN THE PUDDING

The proof is in the pudding" is an expression that alludes to the idea that the value, quality, or truth of something must be judged based on our direct experience with it or its results. That expression comes from an older saying that makes the meaning a bit clearer: the proof of the pudding is in the eating. This follows the same narrative that physical exercise and faith also carry. When we exercise or "work out" to build muscle and get in shape the payoff cannot be immediately seen. The evidence of our efforts begin with the substance of discomfort, display the possibility of pain and show no signs of our objectives. Yet somehow, maybe by the example of others, we muster enough faith to believe in results we cannot see at that moment. It is impossible for us to rely strictly on our natural faculties or senses and embrace such a seemingly foolish narrative. The idea that some entity, the source of all life and energy, would form a creation of such complexity that revolves around invisible unseen spiritual principles defies common sense. No one in their right natural mind continues to believe fairy tales as they mature. The lessons may be valuable, but the stories prove not to be true. There has to be some other supernatural force or substance that compels people to believe the scenarios in the Bible. Is faith that force? How can any practical person embrace or understand the idea that the universe we exist and operate in was framed by articulated commands spoken in a vacuum. Furthermore how could it be that words can create matter? Can we really believe that the blood of a lamb and the words of our testimony have power over dragons, serpents and demons? Believers know that words are spirit and that talking and telling are the spiritual tactics for obtaining the victory over our supernatural enemies and physical infirmities. Perhaps this is an extension of the power that spoke creation into existence! Although we know the stories of our faith we must preach the cross and teach the principles we practice. Preaching is not limited to "so called" titled preachers. As a matter of fact "preaching" is something most parents do. There are those who are "called," ordained and predestined to preach. These individuals should be designated or titled as preachers even when they're not preaching. Sometime preachers must teach and some teachers likewise preach. Preaching and teaching share similarities but are not the same. We are all capable of both preaching and teaching. A preachers calling is convoluted by the crazy complexity of things that are not congruent. The "foolishness" of preaching seems to involve all of the characteristics of herding cats and individuals that do not behave like sheep. The idea that intangible words can produce tangible results isn't that far fetched, is it? The task of Preaching involves edification, explanation, exhortation, application, confirmation, confrontation, correction, illustration, motivation, persuasion and conclusions. Teaching on the other hand can impart knowledge and truth but generally requires open-minded audiences and individuals. In depth learning occurs best when the recipients are receptive and seeking enlightenment. The "Crystal Ball" of it all is based on the concepts, laws and principles illustrated for us from commands and examples within the Bible! To top it all off, this manual for governing our attitude, behavior and disposition was written by imperfect individuals, compiled over centuries and canonized in step with the politics of the time. These incredible events are a part of an fantastic story. It's amazing to think that anyone accepts or believes any of it. The Bible depicts how astonished people were when things manifested back then. How much more so now? In this day and time, with all of the new technologies, innovations and inventions, can we actually expect anyone to believe in the outrageous idea that EVERYTHING we are experiencing today coincides with a divine masterplan. With all of the predicted calamities and changes that are sequentially occurring, there should be few doubts that the Bible's accuracy in our world's forecast rivals all meteorological predictions. The universe functions and maintains a balanced circle of life. Those representing righteousness represent the "godly" side of a spiritually balanced world. Without the "salt of the earth" our already uncontrolled chaos would be even more catastrophic. Our overall spiritual disposition, like salt, functions as a preservative for this world. "But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:"
