TEXT IN GREEN ARE LINKS - CLICK ON THEM - TRUTH OR DARE Sound is defined as a vibration that manifests itself in the form of a wave. Without sound the evidence of "invisible physical manifestations" are limited to sensing, sight or touch. In the known physical realm every movement, occurrence and action makes a sound or has a sound associated with it. The exceptions are in a vacuum or outer space. Sound's distinct characteristics allows it to be both felt and heard. Sound alerts us to the presence of whatever produced it, despite the fact that the sound made by an object is not that object. Sound is capable of revealing the dimensions and characteristics of an object through its resonance. Sound may be regarded as an audible "energy force of power." Whether intentional or unintentional all sounds are created. This means that the absence of sound is also a creative process and indicates that the lack of sound is what makes silence. All sounds carry substance of spiritual energy. Just as silence has a spiritual energy too. It is obvious that different types of sounds have different types of meanings. Noise is often characterized as undesirable sound. Still every individual noise has a different spirit and diverse meaning to it. We use various types of vocalizations to address specific spirits and their behaviors. Whether we whisper or yell depends upon the circumstance, situation and effectiveness of that approach. In any case to deal with spiritual issues in this physical realm we must exercise the sound of our voice with powerful words of choice to have authority over them. All sounds must be initiated by some action or intent to be created and/or recreated. Sounds have no agenda of their own, they are merely the representatives of the "sound energy" that produced them. Sounds are not material substance. Yet they can be made, memorized, replicated and duplicated over and over again. When sounds are not being created or recreated they still exist but are in a silent or dormant state. Although sounds can not be retained or stored in their "expressive form" they continue in perpetuity within our memos, on paper, in recordings on machines and in memories within our heads. The articulation of sound helps us to bridge the gap between the conscious and subconscious natural and spiritual realms of our existence. The absence of sound (silence) indicates lack and a "spirit of truancy" in action. The spirit of a sound may consist or be derived from a wide spectrum of vibrations that can range anywhere from the noise of movement to the harmony of music. This post directly addresses the "sound of silence" and the sin which may be found in the lack of "sounding off." Silence is a state of sound that offers an unlimited clean slate of opportunity if it is broken into smaller constructive pieces. The "spirit of silence" has a profound effect when it is applied scientifically. We utilize the gaps of silence between the clapping of hands or the pauses, stops, and other punctuation's between words, sentences and paragraphs. Sound has the capacity to even break up the silence of shame. There are certain spirits that operate through or do their best work in dark, quiet or silent places. We often find the "spirits of despair, grief, pain, sorrow and other mental stresses" functioning and flourishing in these environments. Silence is an effortless state which usually requires very little energy to maintain. However total silence is not possible in this physical realm; and the closer we get to "absolute silence" the closer we move towards the next realm of existence through the door of death. As many people age they experience diminished hearing and vision. These are the signs of the silencing of physical senses prior to the complete awakening of spiritual ones. The "spirit of sound" is a difficult concept to describe. Often we use the physical characteristics of music or sound to describe certain psychic characteristics and qualities of spirit. In this case it is the "spirit of sound" that we want to compare to something else of similar qualities. It is always easier to describe something by something else that is similar. Water is water and water is liquid but there are not too many other things similar we can compare it with. However to describe the "spirit of sound" we will examine the concept of "quiet" to use as a comparison. Quiet is a quality of sound not of silence. Therefore quiet is never silent, neither can it ever be. A meek and quiet spirit is in God's sight of great price, however silence can be the "coward spirit" in a moment of quietness. Silence may be golden or silence can be compliance depending on the situation it is applied to. But in many cases silence is simply fear in disguise. "First They Came," is the poetic form of a post-war confessional prose by the German Lutheran pastor Martin Niemoller. In this writing silence, the sin of apathy, is addressed by its final consequences that eventually would lead to the authors own demise. Silence is deadly. "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." Battling silence requires an understanding of the spirit silence produces. When someone "breaks their silence" this indicates some level of freedom or liberty in expression. Whenever we "break" something, whether it be a previously held record or a piece of china, we are in fact replacing and destroying its place or state and establishing our influence and presence instead. When someone "breaks down" and cries they are "breaking" their silence in order to express their feelings. The "spirit of silence" like any other spirit functions and influences the realms it operates in. Remember, spirits are impartial, they have no agenda other than their expression. Within a wholesome environmental consciousness, spirits function harmoniously within the purpose of their presence. The "spirit of silence" has a dual purpose and position in its interactions with sound. Without gaps of silence, sound loses some qualities of its overall syncopation functionality. However the "spirit of silence" may attract the "spirit of fear" if not properly applied. Silence is as powerful as its opposite counterpart named sound. Without silence tyranny and evil lose traction at conception. Silence allows destructive energy to go undetected, underground, hide and fester until it resurfaces again. The "spirit of silence," works through the secretive nature of a lie concealed by pride. This spirit takes root during the initial manifestation and conceptual phases of thought and action. Silence works with a double edged sword of allowance and prevention. The "spirit of silence" insures that, "the joint that squeaks" will not get the oil (suppress the squeak), neither can the "stitch in time save nine" (ignore the the need), nor can we "nip it in the bud" (remedial rather then preventative strategies). When the "spirit of silence"prevails evil flourishes. Silence disguises and/or hides the deeds of those who work in darkness as opposed to the light. The duality of the "spirit of silence" means that while it works as a permissive spirit allowing hidden agendas it simultaneously functions as a preventative spirit restricting transparency. Most spirits have a duality to them. This is what permits them to be used for productive or destructive purposes. The "spirit of Silence" permits us to hold our peace and can keep us from saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. On the other hand, the "spirit of silence" can also prevent us from speaking up, speaking out, just talking or saying anything at all. This "dumb" (not stupid or ignorant) spirit is at work in the minds and mouths of most people today. We are the society that fails to speak against the "globally harmful" acts of society but have no problem with speaking for our "individually beneficial" actions. Now that we know how the "spirit of silence" operates we can honorably utilize it to bring attention to need and less focus on greed. Sound balances silence. We are the instruments that give a voice to sound. How we talk, what we say, verbally speak and think out loud (acts and actions) affects the consciousness of society and influences our collective concern for one another. Today we have the ability but we need the will (desire) and the words (sound) to share resources and create balance. This is our opportunity to break the bonds of silence. The world we live in and the entire universe as far as we know is at such a balance that wherever there is a surplus of something; somewhere else there is a lack or need that such a surplus would fill. The amazing thing is that this applies to sound, noise and silence as well. This means that for every empty bucket there is a full "WELL" waiting to fill it. In other words for any "void" there will always be a corresponding "excess" that occurs somewhere else. Charity, compassion and cooperation are being silenced, they are today's "void." Accumulated and concentrated wealth are today's "excess." While some people are dying due to undistributed lack others are indulging in unnecessary waste. To continue in silence is to condone this behavior. We are obligated to say something and give "sound" a voice, our voice. Even a whisper is a sound. Although they are quiet, whispers are unique, and if we listen for them we can distinguish their presence even among the loud shouting. A whisper in spirit (prayer) can become a roar in manifestation. The laws of spirit although subject to natural law are not subject to most physical laws. The law of balance Balance is subject to natural, physical and spiritual laws. Balance is sometimes referred to as a "Yin Yang" relationship, is a common concept in dualism that describes how seemingly opposite or contrary forces are actually complementary, interconnected, and/or interdependent in some manner. When silence is balanced by expression we experience harmony. Whenever we have an over-abundance in contrast with lack or scarcity a balancing intervention is required. We see this with food, water and most other life sustaining resources. How is it possible that we have an overabundance of food in some places, so-much-so that it is wasted; while in other places around the globe there is not enough? As the dominate species on the earth we lack empathy for one another and respect for the planet. Our common welfare must always come first! We have the ability to produce power without raping the earth and simultaneously polluting it. We have advanced to a point where we have solutions for healthcare, hunger, and pollution but progress has been silenced by greed. It's time to talk about our failings and stop the silence of apathy towards our neighbors and planet. After we vote it is our voices that must continue to be heard. We can either muzzle our mouths to silence the voice and the march of progress, or we can sound the alarm through our dialogue with one another and forsake the sin of silence.
