"ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE" is defined as the "THeory" And development of computer systems capable of performing tasks that normally require human intelligence. THINGS such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages FALL UNDER ITS EVER EXPANDING & UNLIMITED FUNCTIONS. Artificial, imitation and multiple kinds of unnatural processes and products are normal today. Everything from artificial intelligence to artificial lights, images and sounds dominate our everyday routines. Nothing seems to be "an original" anymore. Many things are actually "a copy," or a copy of "a copy." Even many of our outdoor stadiums promoting traditional "live" events unfortunately utilize synthetic (turf) or artificial grass. The line that separates real from artificial has been blurred. It appears that there is a artificial substitute or imitation for anything that is real. Everything from flavors to flowers has an artificial substitute. Although imitation is said to be the greatest form of flattery, our ever increasing ability to simulate reality has flooded us with too many things that resemble real. Artificial is not fake it is artificial. Artificial means humanly contrived or man made, a replica of real. In most cases artificial components, from hands to hearts, are made as a substitute or replacement for an original or real part. Although a process may be circumvented artificially the result can still be genuine and real. Artificial hearts and pacemakers really pump blood throughout the body. Artificial insemination can produce a pregnancy in much the same way as natural sexual intercourse can without the sex. The "artificial" in the case of contraception is a real process. Sometimes "artificial" duplicates an action or an object. The bottom line is that "artificial" mimics and mirrors reality. As spiritual is to psychic, so is real to artificial. Psychic power is not supernatural, while spiritual powers are. A true psychic can develop and utilize their "so-called" mental abilities to see things that others cannot. Contrary to what many believe, a psychic cannot see into the future but can sometimes accurately predict future developments and events by aggregating and synthesizing data just like computers do. The more information a psychic has, the better their statistical analysis can be. Human beings and much of life is cyclical and follows repetitious patterns. We all can exercise psychic abilities simply by studying the habits and behaviors of things and applying them in light of past history. Like meteorologists, a psychic's accuracy improves with experience and practice. In contrast to this, people with familiar spirits, diviners, and witches operate in the spiritual realm. This is why it is important for us to remember that we are spiritual beings in human bodies with intellectual minds. Human beings are naturally endowed with multiple senses designed to guide and protect us in whatever environment we find ourselves in. Although we have more than five natural senses, most of us are aware of the "familiar five" known as touch, taste, smelling, seeing and hearing. Natural, psychic and spiritual energies operate everywhere human beings occupy. In a world that is being increasingly filled with artificial everything it makes sense for us to look at our existence in a way that makes "spiritual sense." Most people know what we are talking about without realizing what it's all about. Knowing something deals with our intellectual ability to store information. Realizing something deals with our minds cognitive ability to become fully aware of it. Realize means that "REAL EYES" SEE REAL THINGS! News never has traveled so fast. Radio followed by movies and television has revolutionized how we see the world. The media of books, magazines, newspapers and-readable words are being challenged by an abundance of images, movies and sounds we cannot possible digest at the present pace of presentation. Video conferencing is diminishing the effect of traditional social ques normally used in interpersonal conversation. As we invent and exploit multimedia more people will face falling into cyber fantasies. The fallacy of computer/virtual love is not as far fetched as we might think. Love has never been limited to physical boundaries or geographical locations. Whether its through conversations, letters, texts, pictures or video; our attraction to things that appeal to us can emotionally tempt us to unknowingly "make commitments to them." Face it, whether its "FACEBOOK," "FACE-TIME," "FACE++," or "FACE THE NATION" we are treating images as reality, when they are just representatives of reality. And the reality they project may not be accurate. Today we are inundated with 3D experiences, avatars and imaging that can trick our eyes and be falsely interpreted by our brain. Virtual experiences in gamming and theatre are only the beginning. The art of painting pictures with words is giving way to the art of creating stories with images. Artificial everything allows us to create a version of anything that we want to see whether true or not. Three-D glasses simply trick our brains into seeing projected images differently. As we consistently embrace artificial experiences, distinguishing them from real life will be a challenge. This may be confusing to our children as it exposes them to unreal simulated episodes that may be interpreted as real experiences. There is a huge difference with car crashes in video games and on real roads. Smoother and quieter electric cars are helping to blur that line. The fiction presented by the cartoons we grew up with in the past is not the same as the realistic animations we see across the entertainment industry. The line has been blurred by advanced technology. There is a subtle difference between imitation, artificial and fake. Cartoons and the animated figures in their illustrations bear the characteristics of real people and objects. These fake "life like" figures function and perform as good or better then the actual things they depict. There is a price to pay for clouding or confusing what "appears-to-be" with reality. When we replicate or reproduce something it is clear to the creator that the copy is not the original, but it may not be obvious to the observer. Most imitations have limitations. The advances in our ability to capture, reproduce and relocate (broadcast) just about any sound or image has arrived. The distinction between the actual and the depiction of "what is" is being lost. This early form of artificial intelligence is sucking us in. Many people actually believe that the images and sounds we receive from our multimedia devices (TV's, Phones, Computers, etc) are being received instantly in so called "real time." This is not true! Watching or listening to anything "live" is not actually happening unless we are at that event. Although we have shortened the interval of the time gap between the action and the remotely located observer there is still some small delay. It is this "real" delay that we must recognize. Real time should more accurately be termed duplication or transmission time. This is a part of the same "true" delay we experience when a batter hits the ball and we see the outcome developing before we hear the crack from the bat. Many players can anticipate a homerun just from the sound. This small distinction is a big concern. As we continue to digitize more and more of our communication it is advisable to be wary of what can be faked and/or added into the gaps. We are giving life to images and replication as if they are truly animate. What distinguishes artificial from fake is that fake "is not real" in terms of if it has fraudulent intent and/or purpose. Artificial "is real" in the sense that it was made intentionally to replicate the original in either form, function or both. They both may be considered imitations but they are very different types of imitations. An imitation appears to be but it ain't. The word "Artificial" may not be getting a fair shake. Art, artist and artifacts are real but still conform to the meaning of something produced by humans that does not occur naturally. Does this include tables and chairs? Imitation often provides inspiration when the duplicated object or concept is skillfully recreated and applied. They say that imitation is life's greatest form of flattery. But imitation regardless of inspiration mimics creation and through innovations. Remember the life or lies we imitate must still be lived. Counterfeits, copycats, fakes and imitations all have an artificial aspect to them. The definition of artificial must be expanded. We need transparency to know what are the false and true aspects of it in light of the fake and real applications tied to it. WHEW! This is the age of analytics. More and more people are defining themselves by their digital profile. In this follow, like and share age we are artificially competing for virtual followers. This new standard of living has permeated our culture. As we've expanded our social lives to include people we've never met in real life and in actually don't know, artificial relationships have become popular. Through using digital and virtual technologies have we compromised real live social cues for simulated artificial prompts? Anyone can assume whatever identity they want to have. The need for popularity and social acceptance through an online component has almost eclipsed real traditional relationships. We have moved from fast to super accelerated in a short time. There are unintended consequences to acceleration and automation. We now have less and less time to understand or deal with the effects of our present advancements before some new method, policy, practice or procedure goes mainstream quickly replacing what's current. Each new step towards greater efficiency can potentially lead to new problems. We are being lured into chasing after everything new. Promoting "modern advancements" as bigger, better, faster and more powerful has created an illusion that "new" is normal. Traditionally we have had time to make adjustments and gradually grow into new systems, processes and things. Sometimes after review, new systems require revamping, revisions and re-calibration to fix unforeseen problems associated with their deployment. In modern times, over the past 100 years or so, we have deployed artificial or automated controls throughout many of the areas in our lives. From alarm clocks to answering machines, now known as voice mail we are relegating and subjecting ourselves to accept new as better. From artificial insemination to artificial sweeteners we are finding ways to get around natural limitations. There is one saving grace found In the midst of the proliferation of artificial duplication and imitation. Some of today's consumers are demanding more complete and so called "all natural," whole, organic, with no artificial anything in their diets. Many people are drawing the line when it comes to food. But applying this standard across the full spectrum of our existence is difficult to do. The fact that our society has gradually incorporated so many devices into most of our daily routines has make them inextricable. The instruments we use to detect, discover and make determinations can operate either manually and automatically. A thermometer is a much better method of determining temperature than making a judgment from feeling temperatures with our hands. In some cases it is better to trust a dogs ability to detect a seizure over any machine. Although It appears that people are more likely to make mistakes then machines, can we devote that level of trust to them? Without the right kind of ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE a machine may not know when it makes a mistake or care. Trust is a word we associate with people not automation. We must learn to check machines and develop trust in people that can be trusted. Our faith in our fire alarms and other protection systems should be in lock step with our diligence in monitoring them. We must create a balance between artificial technologies and natural remedies or reality. Artificial means may not always be the only solution, but many times it is the best solution. We should attempt to apply the same "all natural" solutions to the sciences and technologies we're developing today. This is not an attack against our present progress or advancements. This is a plug for how we advance. Is it so difficult to believe that we already have so many of the substances for healing and cures naturally occurring within our environment but are unaware of where to find them or how to use them? Is it possible that we naturally tend to develop what we fail to discover? The idea that there is a natural solution for every problem may be a little far fetched but should never be dismissed. Pills and surgery may not always be the best solutions for our health challenges, but without alternatives we have few choices. Today's medical remedies primarily lean towards chemistry and surgery but these are not the only solutions. Is there no balm in Gilead? Today's technical challenges are addressed by programs written for computers and automation but they are only as good as their programmers and limited coding. These leading solutions should not be the only choice. It is incumbent upon us to give a voice to both advancements and alternatives while maintaining a voice that monitors the processes that monitor us.
