These are excerpts from the Technology Transitions Work-space session on 12-18-16 THE CHALLENGES OF CHANGE!
In March 16th of 2016, Korea’s L’ee Sedol , the world’s most dominate “Go” player, suffered defeat three times at the hands of Google’s “(DeepMind)” A.I. computer program. “Watson” already assists in diagnosing cancer 4 times more accurate than human nurses. WATCH OUT MEDICAL RESEARCHERS! Even Facebook has pattern recognition software that they say can recognize faces better than humans. HELLO BIOMETRICS AND AUTOMATED SECURITY ACCESS SYSTEMS. GOODBYE KEY-CHAINS AND MAGNETIC STRIP CARDS! Electric cars came into existence at the same time gas and steam engine cars emerged. At that time the internal combustion engine won and emerged as the predominate technology. So the automotive industry “rode” or should we say drove that horse as long as they could. It’s easy to see them going down the same road Kodak traveled. There are many factors coming into play now. Both electric and autonomous vehicles will appear quickly within the next cycle of Moore’s Law. WATCH OUT GAS STATIONS, TAXI CABS, CHAUFFEURS, PERSONAL CAR INSURANCE AND DRIVERS! HELLO DRIVERLESS VEHCHE PAY AS YOU GO AND PRECISE TIMES OF ARRIVAL. Last year, more wind and solar energy was installed worldwide then traditional fossil fuel technologies. Battery and fuel cells are finally advancing with Moore’s law. Healthcare is soon coming to the palm of your hand. The “Tricorder X” prize has been pushed back and is scheduled to be awarded in the first half of 2017. The device based on the Star Trek episodes used by their doctors for medical analysis will become the first commercially available product designed for consumer use. Blood pressure, sugar levels, vital signs and even stress levels are deciphered. Some may ask how a scanner can detect stress. Just imagine the thinking before x-rays and ultrasound existed. It is now possible to detect our level of cortisol. Cortisol levels normally fluctuate throughout the day and night in a circadian rhythm that peaks at about 8 AM and reaches its lowest around 4 AM. While it is vital to health for the adrenals to secret more cortisol in response to stress, it is also very important that bodily functions and cortisol levels return to normal following a stressful event. Unfortunately, in our current high-stress culture, the stress response is activated so often that the body does not always have a chance to return to normal. This can lead to health problems resulting from too much circulating cortisol and/or from too little cortisol if the adrenal glands become chronically fatigued (adrenal fatigue). WATCH OUT ANNUAL CHECKUPS WITH MULTIPLE LAB TESTS! SAY HELLO SELF DIAGNOSIS, AWARENESS, PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY AND MANAGEMENT. Our smart phones will be getting smarter. Apps that analyze our moods, warn us of potential pitfalls and advise us on how to accomplish everyday tasks most efficiently are being developed. There is an app called “moodies which can already tell what mood we are in. By 2020 there will be apps that can tell by our facial expression if we are lying. That with a combination of continual data mining will make verbal deception almost impossible. BE THANKFUL THAT LIE DETECTORS WERE RULED INADMISSIBLE IN COURT YEARS AGO! HELLO NEW LAWS AND AMENDMENTS. Imagine a political debate where we are able to have a display that alerts us when the parties are lying! The average lifespan has steadily increased. In the U.S. we are now expected to reach the age of 80. With a life span increase of about 3 months per year now, and growing to a year per year in the future, expect to see more people around for longer periods of time. WATCH OUT SOCIAL SECURITY! It won’t be long before we will be able to simulate the pleasures transmitted from the brain without an individual having to perform the activity or take a drug. 3D virtual reality already tricks our vision and minds into processing things as if they are actually happening. The brain controls our perceptions and sense of perception. Manipulating the nerves and impulses that trigger the brain chemically and electronically has been the subject of research and experimentation for decades. IMAGINE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THESE AND MANY OTHER TECHNOLOGIES WITHOUT US BEING AWARE OF THEM! WATCH OUT DRUG DEALERS, PIMPS, PROSTITUTES AND STRIP CLUBS! Pleasures are temporary forms of happiness. There are many things we find pleasure in that are both good and bad for us. Indulging in eating, drinking, sex, smoking, drugs and alcohol do provide temporary happiness. If this was not the case people would not continue to do them. Think of the possibilities dealing with alcoholism, drug addiction and other habitual maladies of the human condition without traditional therapy. WATCH OUT REHAB, AA, NA, AND RECOVERY PROGRAMS! Although we cannot collect events, we can savor and remember precious moments. We are all collectors of one sort or another. We tend to define ourselves by our collective gatherings. Women often prioritize life through relationships while men tend to find gratification from accomplishments. Regardless of whatever we hold dear to us, experiencing the feelings we get from them becomes important. So we strive for that effect over and over again. Things that make us feel good; gratify the yearning to be happy. Sometimes the cycle becomes so compulsive that we characterize them as addictions. Even hard work and simple accomplishments produce feelings we deem as worthwhile even if the struggle took us through undesirable tasks or interactions. Sometimes the harder the endeavor the more gratified we are at the end of it. Tackling alcoholism, drug addiction and many other behavioral issues are all within the new realm of present possibilities. Today’s challenges are truly unique. We will not be able to deal with tomorrow’s problems using yesterday’s thinking. It is now practical and easier to find the proverbial needle in a haystack. Technology is seeing to that. Research is now more predictive than reactive, that is, we are at the point of responding with, before it occurs; rather than reacting to, after the fact. Yes! We see through the model in our minds. However our human condition clouds the metrics which deliver new information. As a result, we tend to instinctively rely on our prejudices. WATCH OUT RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS! Knowledge and information are continually being refined. Beliefs based on traditions and superstitions may not stand the tests of time. The true principles behind religious thought will eclipse the stories that presented them. WATCH OUT BRICK & MORTAR FURNITURE AND APPLIANCE STORES! Another method of modular integration, interchangeable parts, local production & manufacturing with 3D printers has emerged. WATCH OUT THEATERS, TRUCKING, BUS, TRAIN & TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRIES! Safe autonomous rides, shipping, deliveries, and flights are the new order of the day. Whatever happened to drug stores, pharmacies, movie rentals, repair shops, home phones, answering machines, cassette tapes, CD’s, DVD’s, hardware stores, and checkout cashiers? Fasten your seat belts; we are in for one heck of a ride. It won’t bother us as much if we have some idea of what to expect. But many will be caught by surprise like the character played by Michael Douglas in the movie “Falling Down.” The shoe company “Nike” has a new goal for the marathon called Breaking 2. WATCH OUT WORLD RECORDS, TECHNOLOGY IS COMING FOR YOU! Whether by drugs or other modifications we will now see human achievement reach new pinnacles. And beyond that threshold our robots can handle the rest. The law of attraction works through belief and action. We have the foresight through knowledge to orchestrate the future we want in light of the conditions that exist and as the new conditions usher in. It is our hope that the participants in this session internalize what has been presented as more than information. We hope to be catalyst for motivation to act, not just react but respond. As a society, regardless of the process, whether we retrogress or progress, no kingdom divided against itself can stand!

AuthorJoseph W. Brown has been a small business owner, in the technology industry, for over 40 years. He operates as an ITA. An Integrated Technologies Aggregator practices the art of first assembling, next correlating and then finally corroborating various facts from distinct disciplines. Once this is completed, an "ITA" illustrates how these different fields of study are connected. It culminates in presenting inconclusive but irrefutable evidence of the relationships between biological, chemical, electrical, environmental, monetary, physical, psychological, social and SPIRITUAL principles. He strives to present evidence in a cohesive, practical & simplistic manner. Joseph is an unconventional and unique speaker & writer. He describes himself as a natural man with the sensitivity of a spiritual maven. He is an apologist and spiritual scientist. Joseph insists that we "find" motivation from within by getting inspiration from without. He endeavors to provide that inspiration through applying various Bible based principles. As the author & founder of The Magnetic Model, Rapid Retail Systems & NitchTechnologies.com. Mr. Brown is available to speak to groups of all sizes. (small & large) He will only speak on a "Subject." He relies on the principle of "shedding light" to empower individuals to address their own particular "Situations." These are the tools to create "Solutions."
