CONTRARY TO POPULAR OPINION, ALTHOUGH MANY OCCASIONS OF HEALING SEEM TO BE MIRACULOUS, THE VAST MAJORITY OF HEALING'S ARE NOT. GOD'S DESIGN INCLUDES OUR BODY'S ABILITY TO FIX AND RESOLVE DISEASE, INFIRMITIES AND SICKNESS. HEALING IS AN ONGOING NATURAL PROCESS THROUGHOUT ALL OF NATURE. HEALING IS IN EVERY WAY ASSOCIATED WITH HOMEOSTASIS. HOMEOSTASIS IS A "MIRACULOUS PROCESS" THAT OCCURS THROUGHOUT EVERY ASPECT OF OUR EXISTENCE. HOMEOSTASIS IS A GREEK WORD THAT DENOTES "SAME" AND "STEADY." HOMEOSTASIS BALANCES EVERY ASPECT OF LIFE. WE CAN APPLY HOMEOSTASIS NOT ONLY TO BODILY HEALTH AND HEALING BUT ALSO ACROSS THE SOCIAL SCIENCES. RESTORATION IS NEEDED WHEN HEALING IS IMPEDED! Many people deal with health only as it relates to our physical bodies. However, there are spiritual, biological and psychological aspects to health and healing. We like to blame our sicknesses on the Devil, evil or the powers of darkness, but rarely is that the case. The association is not that far-fetched when we consider both the story of Job and the thorn in the flesh that the Apostle Paul endured. Our bodies, minds, souls and spirits are gifted to us. We must take care of them. Many times, we petition God to supernaturally heal us, after getting sick this might be termed a "DIVINE HEALING or INTERVENTION." In reality, most of the time, we just need the natural process of healing to be restored. Does this imply that many of the issues we face with our own health are self-inflicted? The answer is yes. We have a tendency, unwittingly perhaps, to tear down autonomously built infrastructures critical to our mental, physical and spiritual well-being. This phenomenon is known as disease, better expressed as dismissal or removal of ease. Disease is a direct result of disobedience. It manifests as infirmity, illness and sickness. Most of us do not deal with or miss the signs and symptoms of sickness until it manifests at the tangible physical level. Sooner or later even with check-ups and doctors somehow, we all will feel "under the weather" and get sick. Is it a dietary, emotional, environmental, psychological or spiritual issue? Sickness usually begins internally and manifests externally. Why do we tend to ignore small or minor signs? Perhaps we do not actually know what some of them are. Psychological and physical symptoms can include dizziness, itching, irritation, nausea, anxiety, pain, swelling, uneasiness and other signs. Mental and spiritual symptoms can also manifest in a similar manner, but the diagnosis and prognosis operate on different principles. There is a sickness that affects society not included in most medical journals and research. ALL SICKNESS COMES AS A RESULT OF CORRUPTING CREATIONS DESIGN, INTENT AND PURPOSE. We cannot properly address anything we fail to acknowledge or ignore! Why do we wait until it manifests in mass shootings, self-mutilation and abusive behaviors. Sin is a sickness! Without addressing the root cause of a malady, it will continue to resurface. The root of the word "health" is the word heal! Illnesses fall under two basic categories, acute and chronic. Acute illnesses usually resolve on their own but chronic conditions require an ongoing treatment. Sin is a CHRONIC condition! Some healing requires daily medication or treatment to maintain it. Such is the sickness called sin. One prescription, the daily medication for restoration is repentance and confession. Good health should be our normal state. We all have a built-in restorative process for healing; one is called sleep. Our circadian rhythm is as important as our diets. Slumber, the "spirit of sleep," should not be taken for granted and minimally used, or exploited by laziness and abused! Not only should our energy and health be constantly renewed and restored but our very souls need restoration too! "HE RESTORETH MY SOUL." It is important to embrace the principle that above all things we should first desire a higher level of spiritual prosperity above our constantly sought levels of natural prosperity. Seeking the kingdom of God first, adds and continually brings whatever we need from health to wealth. We must take into account that sickness is a predecessor to death. Before there was any death sickness alerted its coming. Sickness stems from disobedience and rebellion. Death comes as a result of separation from our source of life. There is ALWAYS a GENESIS for every manifestation we experience. Sickness is an all-inclusive word usually described as a temporary state induced from external circumstances or exposure. For example: We may get sick from eating improperly stored or prepared food. People not accustomed to boats may become Sea-Sick. A smell might be so disgusting that it makes us nauseous. Sometimes we can just simply get emotionally sick and tired of other people and/or circumstances. The "alternate state" that we find ourselves in when sick is indicative of a change in our health or general well-being. Sickness can affect some, all or any specific aspect of our existence. Mental, physical and spiritual sicknesses can affect us all. Sickness can be compared to a handicap or injury. We simply "get" sick but do not have to stay that way! Why do we usually associate sickness with our physical core, as in "sick to the stomach?" There may also be conditions or situations we find ourselves in that are sickening. Sickness can also arise from internal causes that may be lying dormant within us. These conditions may be inherited and passed from generation to generation as iniquities. All of us are genetically predisposed to our parents' traits. Illness is usually associated with a prolonged sickness or infirmity. Everyone gets sick at some time or another but sometimes we become gravely ill. A prolonged sickness may be described as an illness but not called a disease. Situations involving prolonged or repeated stubbornness, uncontrolled temper, avoidance and selfishness may be characterized as an illness of the mind. Disease is usually considered to be an ongoing residing condition that results from an internal infiltration and occupation by sickness through illness. Many diseases have been diagnosed, understood and today we have cures. The cure for sin sickness was devised at the cross. Unfortunately, without applying that cure, we will continue battling against it and many others. In fact, there are all kinds of unknown diseases waiting to announce themselves to the world! Emotional/mental, bodily/physical and psychological/spiritual breakdowns may be described as attacks against our mind, body and soul. Discussing pathology (a medical term for the way a disease works) must focus beyond mental stresses, bacteria's, germs and viruses. Underlying spiritual conditions must not only be considered but included. Science studies the causes, nature and effects of disease. Spirit pinpoints the source of it all. Science and spirit are not juxtaposed, they are complementary. When Macbeth pleaded with the doctors for his wife's health he asked, "Canst thou not minister to a mind diseased?" The doctor's reply was short sighted albeit insightful. His answer was, "therein the patient must minister to himself." Had he met Jesus, perhaps his answer would have changed. Comorbidity is the simultaneous presence of two or more conditions working in an individual. In this forum we believe that comorbidity is the definitive condition in every sickness, illness or disease. Sin is the spiritual illness behind all infirmities. Iniquity is an inherited condition or spiritual birth defect. In this new era of accelerating change, any failure to exercise patience generally tends to create anxiety and duress. When we take into account many of the miracles Jesus performed, we'll see that healing was performed on both body and soul. The spiritual side was addressed through the teaching and preaching of his words, while the physical side was addressed through affirmations, proclamations and the laying on of hands. Here are a few examples. "Go and sin no more lest a worse thing come upon you."(John 5:14) His disciples once asked him "Master who did sin this man or his parents that he was born blind. (John 9:2) On another occasion when Jesus healed a blind man by touching him, he asked the man what he saw. When the man replied that he saw men as trees Jesus touched him once again and the "way" he saw things was also healed. (Mark 8:24) Afflictions can be broadly defined as "anything" that causes pain or suffering. The Bible says that many are the afflictions of the righteous. This implies that there are all kinds of perils that they, like everyone else are subject to. Nobody is exempt from life's vicissitudes. The Bible say that he causes it to rain on the just and the unjust alike. Life is not biased. The very idea that suffering has a purpose or use, is in light of the fruit or results that can bring. Without having some benefit for us or for others our suffering is in vain. Suffering, to be fruitful must result in enlightenment. Suffering, to be fruitful must glorify God. Suffering, to be fruitful must teach, administer and have a lesson to be learned even if it is a punishment. Suffering, to be fruitful must bring understanding and revelations. One of the purposes of Jesus suffering was as a propitiator. He suffered on our behalf as the recipient of the punishment for us and the rest of the world. We need only learn the lessons from his affliction for us. GOD'S CREATION HAS A DESIGN INTENT AND PURPOSEThe very idea of a hap-hazard "big bang theory" is stupidity! We are designed, intentioned and purposed to prosper spiritually, physically and mentally. We were not built to break! True healing is holistic. Applying physical remedies without addressing mental and spiritual maladies is a shortsighted way of resolving issues. Before dealing with or solving a problem we must be able to properly diagnose what that problem is beyond its symptoms. Bad behavior and thinking are traditionally addressed through counseling, instruction, training or rehabilitation. However, it is critical to first realize that we cannot discipline or punish an illness. Whether it's psychiatric, neurological or spiritual, the realization that sin operates in a similar manner as a virus does is key. In our arrogance and/or ignorance, is it possible that our perspectives cause us to see men as trees? The punishment has already been administered, and the price has been paid. We only need access to that healing balm which restores us to the condition of being whole. Our bodies and minds considered to be separate function as one. Our bodies will ALWAYS signal by symptoms or condition the "status of mind." "The status of Mind," is all inclusive term that encompasses our will, heart and desire. Our "minds" ALWAYS signal its presence through thought, conversation and deeds which reveals the condition of our soul and spirit. WHAT ABOUT DOCTORS?From the advent of sin sickness has emerged and since then we have been waging a war against it. Sickness can be treated or healed. God can heal us, and our bodies are designed to heal itself. Doctors, drugs, medicines and therapies are treatments designed to promote healing. WHAT IS SUPERNATURAL/SPIRITUAL HEALING?It is important to take into consideration how ALL things interconnect from the micro to the macro. Although all things interconnect and intersect in the grand scale at some degree, how they interact at specifically distinct areas and levels can make critical differences. The intricate design of most living things, especially the highest species in creation, the human body follows a preservation and survival order or routine. We are spiritual beings having a human experience that we are intellectually processing with our interconnected minds! When we are injured or get sick in any way, our system responds by maintaining the vital functions we need to keep living by cutting back on or downgrading the less essential parts. This by effect minimizes some functionality in other aspects of our being in order to protect the most indispensable parts. This is part of the reason that some of our extremities can be sacrificed in order to save our lives through amputations and other natural methods our bodies use to survive. When our bodies are stressed and oxygen depleted the most important functions must be sustained to our hearts, lungs and brains. When these organs are taxed, they in turn can limit may other functions and operate at a subpar level themselves. Some level or type of shock occurs after every accident or stressful event. The effects may be short lived, but it happens, nevertheless. Sometimes people sick with chronic conditions and injuries experience deficiencies in mental acuity. Times of brain fog, memory lapses along with confusing or conflicting thoughts are likely to come about whether we're aware of it or not. These effects can be immediate, delayed, cyclic or ongoing. Some subtle manifestations may be difficult to detect or accept due to how we feel and the deceptive nature of our own cognitive or confirmation biases. Other may recognize discreet changes but not be aware of their association with an underlying condition. Ability and acuity are not the same thing they are close, but they have distinctions. Acuity deals with the sharpness or keenness of thought, vision, or hearing and processing the data or information. Ability is the possession of the means or skill to do something. Able bodied persons can be partially disabled in their acuity and not know it. Clear and critical thinking is not only a leaned skill, but it is an interconnected and interrelated integrated function of our being. We must be acutely aware of the mental, physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of existence to paint a complete picture. When people do things that they know are wrong, they are in fact operating in an "out of mind" delusional way and the deceitfulness of sin has a grip on them systemically. this is something we have experienced personally. Looking back on former behaviors and previous decisions we made that were detrimental to ourselves and hurtful towards others; how many of us can utter the common phrase that, "I must have been out of my mind!" Note that the expression does not say out of brain or mental ability. The phrase says out of mind or mental acuity! When God promised his people restoration if they repented, he promised to heal their land. The "land" declaration not only encompassed the physical soil and crops, but also the environment. That promise extended to the mental, natural and spiritual aspects of life. OUR MAIN ENEMY IS THE DEVIL...HIS MAIN WEAPON IS OUR IGNORANCE In order to gain the best opportunities for deliverance we must battle our greatest obstacle, darkness, which is ignorance. We must understand where disease, disorders, impairment, illness, infirmity, maladies and sickness originate. All of creation was sickened by the sin of Adam and Eve. Although healing and restoration are synonymous, they must be individually distinguished. It is important to make distinctions between sickness, illness, and disease. Is there a reason we use the phrases like getting sick, falling ill or having a disease? Healing is often what we request but restoration is what generally occurs. An intelligent prayer is explicit and is in alignment with scriptural basis. Healing can come from without and within. Many times, once we correct the disorders we've embrace both healing and restoration will come. Some pray for healing when there is no known cause for their sickness. Others pray for restoration when they identify the faults, shortcomings or sin in their life. If there be any sick among us, they should call on those of us seasoned enough to properly perform the precision prayer that addresses the root cause of the malady. It is important to understand that as miraculous as healing may appear or seem to be healing is to be expected as promised. "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." We bring healing as the light of the world and the salt of the earth. When we utter the word "Healed" it indicates a past work "producing" in a present situation. Healing that has already been performed simply requires signs and proof or restoration. Healing operates on so much more than just the physical realm. Words can bring healing, touch can create healing, faith can facilitate healing, prayer can invoke healing, peace can promote healing, and love is the agent that heals us all. Healing and restoration can often happen without desiring or acknowledging it. Healing's restorative power comes with the grace that keeps our world turning.
