LIVING AND LOVING BEING PERFECTLY IMPERFECT

Nobody's perfect is what we say but not how we act.  My personal definition describes Perfection as a temporary state in the pursuit of excellence that benchmarks refinements in character or quality; albeit while exposing deficiencies.  We can only have perfection within our creative imagination. It does not exist in our tangible three dimensional world. As we improve conditions and solve problems we create a better or more perfect environment. This does not imply that the original state or condition was flawed. It simply illustrates that adjustments and improvements can yield an even greater efficiency or effectiveness. This encapsulates the phenomena of growth that progresses from perfection to perfection. The closest we can get to "imagined" perfection occurs whenever we remodel, renovate or revise anything that previously existed.
Only through acknowledging the brilliance of our imperfections can we evolve both intentionally and arbitrarily simultaneously. As we grow, the variety of changes that occur during advancement and development act as seeds planted during the imperfect journey.  Our imperfections "show cause" and "provide purpose." This inspires us to refine the multiple processes used during the flawed trip to a "perfect" destination. "Improvement" is the furthest and closest we will ever get to the "imaginary" flawless state of existence. To be perfect or obtain perfection, everything and everyone around us must be perfect also.  The best we can do is accept (conditionally) everything that comes with the package.  As John ledgend sings, "All of me loves all of you, all your curves and all your edges all your perfect imperfections." This implies that the way we occupy our minds with information determines our perspective and relationship to it. Our "acceptance" gives favorable consent to flaws in ourselves and others without judgement. This is a tenet of unconditional love.

Without recognizing mistakes we cannot make improvements. The tendency to erroneously strive for perfection may prevent us from focusing on ENHANCING AND MAINTAINING HARMONY. To demand or expect "actual" perfection in ourselves or others will either magnify frustration or foster arrogance. Perfection cannot be expressed or manifested  imperfectly, neither can it produce defects or flaws.  Unfortunately it is only a matter of time before we find some glitch or fault in everything or everyone. The intent of exposing and dealing with flaws should manifest improvement. The successful results of those efforts should not foster superiority.  Regardless of the motivation harmonious enhancement should be the goal. Advancements, corrections and improvements are inevitable. We can all share in the benefits of any innovation that connects us together.  Perfection is too pedantic to have a lasting appeal which can hold our interest. Its precise meticulous nature caters to every small detail regardless of its importance. Seeking perfection rather then completion can overwhelm our sense of accomplishment. The endless cycle of "betterment" shortens the life of our "best" developments. This is an era of accelerated change. By the time we become familiar and comfortable with a process or product it changes. What once was new and improved becomes old and outdated rather quickly. This trend will continue until society become "fed up" with constant "upgrades" and "updates." It is important that we temper the criteria we use to reflect perfection. It is subject to some perspectives which may be impossible to measure up to.

Even the constitution of the United States seeks for a more perfect union.  The construction industry is replete with thousands of home improvement not home perfection companies.  We can complete a job, but perfection cannot be completed.  The idea of perfection must be embraced conceptually not concretely. Maybe this is why even some naturally beautiful women wear makeup.  Where did we get the saying that variety is the spice of life? Diversity is a state with a variety or range of different things. Why does It appears that many of the most important principles for our sustained existence and survival are the ones we ignore or deny?  Organizing does not create perfection, It forms order.  Striving for perfection should never restrict freedom of choice or expression, it opens options.
It seems that most peoples idea of perfection is incorrectly fueled by erroneous religious or cultural beliefs. The idea of a master race implies selective linebreeding, inbreeding or genetic modification.  We know from experience that over time a reduction in genetic diversity increases the prevalence of disorders. Without proper understanding perfection can become an obsession with irrational perceptions. This can result in embracing a belief that somehow certain attributes, actions or ways are superior.  This is how we justify slavery, racism, sexism, lack of empathy for our neighbor and any other prejudice that can be manifested. It is sad that a simple difference in opinion fosters crass criticism along with many other disparaging remarks that demean one another. The lack of civility is an indication of superiority and lack of empathy is an indication of apathy.

As we age, our desire to maintain stability (sameness) becomes more important. Monotony gives us a sense of control. The dilemma we face today comes as a result of the overwhelming quantity of information and sensory overload. This phenomena is at the core of much of the mental fatigue we are currently experiencing in society. Too much change, too soon and too fast is too much to absorb. Without the ability to adjust, reform and relax stress can overwhelm us. This too can prevent us from reaching the next level of improvement. There are simply to many variables simultaneously affecting our environment to declare any one as the definitive way of life. It seems as if everything worked perfectly until "they" changed things from its previous perfect order. The bombardment of change is ushering in a new mental healthcare crisis we need to navigate through. We are being conditioned to believe that the latest is the greatest.  However the latest lacks a track record and may have unintended glitches  or unexpected results.  Sometimes less is really more.  The less "things" that we have doing and functioning for us the more we will keep doing for ourselves. If we are not careful we will engineer ourselves out of our own usefulness. Engineering is the branch of science and technology devoted to manipulative processes and their results. With the correct understanding of perfection we can engineer a perfect bright future. Practice does not make perfect practice only makes improvement.  There is nothing wrong with a desire for the latest improvement or best quality. As long as we recognize that even though best surpasses good or better, best will never be perfect.  Excellence must be the rule and the goal of our efforts. The future is determined by how we adjust from and improve our perfectly imperfect past.  We must both collectively and individually "reign in" the expectations we believe define a perfect world and simultaneously develop tolerance for incompetence and change.  2019 is a good time to start.

PS. AS "ALWAYS", IT'S POSSIBLE I COULD BE WRONG, I PROBABLY MISSED SOMETHING AND MOST DEFINITELY HAVE NOT COVERED THE FULL SCOPE!

I think its ironical that as we are growing up, traveling, leading exciting lives, we are looking to 'settle down', but when we do finally 'settle down' we get bored of the monotony and then look for a change or adventure or some change because we feel stagnant and tired of the routine. We are never satisfied...

Joseph W. Brown has been a small business owner, in the technology industry, for over 40 years. He operates as an ITA. An Integrated Technologies Aggregator practices the art of first assembling, next correlating and then finally corroborating various facts from distinct disciplines. Once this is completed, an "ITA" illustrates how these different fields of study are connected. It culminates in presenting inconclusive but irrefutable evidence of the relationships between biological, chemical, electrical, environmental, monetary, physical, psychological, social and SPIRITUAL principles. He strives to present evidence in a cohesive, practical & simplistic manner. Joseph is an unconventional and unique speaker & writer. He describes himself as a natural man with the sensitivity of a spiritual maven.  He is an apologist and spiritual scientist. Joseph insists that we "find" motivation from within by getting inspiration from without. He endeavors to provide that inspiration through applying various Bible based principles. As the author & founder of The Magnetic Model, Rapid Retail Systems & NitchTechnologies.com. Mr. Brown is available to speak to groups of all sizes. (small & large) He will only speak on a "Subject."
