GETTING IN GOOD TROUBLE

Two different lives, in the same shared bubble
One named "Justice" the other "Good Trouble."
 "Justice" was white and "Good Trouble" Black
"Justice" had one thing "Good Trouble" lacked

"Good Trouble" had struggles in "Everyday Life."
A community filled with violence and strife
But "Justice" and "Everyday Life" got along
A pretty cool life where few things could go wrong.

Now "Everyday Life" knew "justice" quite well
But not "Good Trouble" he always caught hell.
Yes "Good Trouble's" life was always being tested
So "Good Trouble" got killed or got beat & arrested.

With "Hatred" & "Violence" still hanging around
"Good Trouble" got up & was knocked back down.
Then as "Justice" delayed & came painfully slow
​"Good Trouble" stayed focused with so far to go.

---

But "equality" & "Justice" have lifted their voice
Today more than ever "Good Trouble" has choice
"Good People" now give "Good Trouble" a chance
"Good Trouble" can prosper and further advance.

Now five separate lives in one shared bubble
here comes "Challenge" to help "Good trouble." 
They're working together and keeping us free
With "Justice" "Good People" and "Equality."

With "Everyday Life" not ready to change 
"Good Trouble's" desires appear to be strange.
It's time for transitions that changes do bring
That honor "John Lewis" & "Martin L. King."

Though the futures uncertain in a time of great fear
while so many are hurting and the path is unclear.
It's time we take care of our one common bubble
And thank all the people who bring us "Good Trouble."
