Let's talk about what is not! Sometimes the best way to attempt describing God, life or love is to compare them with what they are not! Imagine walking along a path with God. It's not too hard to do. Our memory will provide an acceptable image of ourselves, but our imagination will have to produce an image of God! Unfortunately most people will limit the scope of their imagination when it comes to GOD. Many of us have been Brainwashed by the beliefs of our fore-fathers. We focus on (not imagine) the descriptions, images, pictures and statues they placed before us. God is spirit! No man hath seen God at any time. Adam and Eve, who had the first and closest relationship with God simply "heard" the presence of God's voice "walking" through the garden in the cool of the day. Abraham who was considered a "friend of God," Jacob and Moses who had a "face to face" encounter with God, Moses who God revealed his ways to, along with Elijah who was caught up to heaven by a chariot of fire in a whirlwind; all communed with God in spirit! We can only imagine God's form. Without insight into how God really is, even our imaginations will fall short of describing the majesty of his divine nature! We need our imaginations to merely begin the process of picturing how God is. Here is the dictionary definition for imagination. It was copied and pasted. Nothing was added to it. This definition is great. It is very direct, it is simple, it is obvious, it is to the point and it is self explanatory. im·ag·i·na·tion iˌmajəˈnāSH(ə)n/ noun The faculty or action of forming new ideas, images or concepts of external objects not present to the senses. In our efforts to define and describe God, we generally attempt to define and describe "God" in terms of "who" he APPEARS to be. Fortunately, if anything, God is more of a "what" than a "who." We all acknowledge God's divinity and identify with God through our limited humanity, but God is not one of us! "He" is not like us. We are striving to be more like "him!" This can only be achieved through emulating Jesus, who is the personification of God in a human form. That's why we keep calling God by pronouns like he and she. The closest we can get to identifying the characteristic of God is to be partakers of God's divine nature. God's nature is generally more closely reflected by women and motherhood than by men. When it comes to nurturing, compassion, forgiveness and unconditional love, most people will acknowledge that women exemplify these characteristics far more than men. When Moses was commissioned to represent the God of the fathers of the children of Israel, he asked God, "who shall I say sent me?" The answer from God was not in terms of a name; it was in terms of what God represented, what authority God had and that no name could adequately represent "him." The answer "I AM THAT I AM" was the essence of expressing the true nature of God. This was during a time when names held a much greater significance than they do today. Back then the essence of a thing was expressed through its title or name. This also included giving a name to God. No wonder we are commanded not to take the name of "The Lord" (Jehovah) thy God in vain. (The second commandment) GOD IS NOT LIKE MAN OR ANY OF HIS CREATionIN APPEARANCE, ATTRIBUTES, FORM, LIKENESS OR QUALITIES!GOD'S CREATIONS DECLARE & DEPICT SOME OF GOD'S CHARACTERISTICSThese are some familiar images we generally associate with defining, depicting and describing God. BUT this writing is about WHAT IS NOT! God does not micro-manage mans activities we do that ourselves. God handed authority over to us a long time ago. We are free moral agents and as such can do whatever we want to. However, we will reap what we sow! God does not author or authorize slavery, anarchy, war and murder. To say God is in total control implies that the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God conducts human affairs. God does not take back the authority or control God gave to us. When we trust in God, we simply surrender our control to God's will if that's what we choose to do. GOD IS NOT A PILL!!!Many of our religious beliefs are derived from erroneous confessions. God is not a pill! God's ways are often misrepresented as to how God works. We are individually both accountable and responsible for our thoughts and actions, iniquities and sins that we commit in this life. God provides us with the guidance and access to his power to overcome any temptation if we want to. In addition to this, God further compensates for our failures by providing continual access to his amazing grace in spite of ourselves. God is not responsible for working out all of our problems, we are! God will always be present with us to see us through. God is an ever-present help in a time of need not a temporary crutch we can use when things don't go our way. This is one of the reasons Jesus told Satan that it was written again, "Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." Through history, archaeology, and technology, we have gained a much better insight into how life was during biblical times. The translators of the King James Bible related the context of God's dealing with man through their perspectives using the information available during the time of their writings. Just as Galileo, Newton and other scientists could only understand the significance of their discoveries and inventions relative to the technologies of their time. So did our dedicated bible translators. Some of the things they wrote, even they did not fully understand. There are various words and phrases that have been redefined, but one word worthy of addressing is the word “church.” "Church" is not in the original Greek manuscripts. Now before branding these writings as heresy or pulling out your hair, we are not advocating abandoning attending church. We hope to enlighten the "ecclesia" (ekklesia in greek) to a better understanding of where "church" came from and what the "assembling of the saints" is all about. (Hebrews 10:25) THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS...There is no such thing as "going to church." "Church" is not any specific location, "church" is more of a formation than a destination. Furthermore, the word "church" is misrepresented by our understanding of what it pertains to. We are being informative and calling attention to something many believers may be unaware of. Once again please be reminded that nothing expressed in any of these writings are in stone. There may be some errors in accuracy but hopefully not in concept or application of their principles. As humanity evolves, we should anticipate a broadening of enlightenment. The perspectives of today should be expanded upon tomorrow. The translation of the Greek word "eccelesia" means "the called out ones". There is no such thing as "falling in love." Although it is a colorful analogy, there is an implication that connotes a lack of control over the situation or circumstance. Falling is akin to moving rapidly from a higher to a lower level without control. Love is a chosen action and behavior. We do not "blindly" find ourselves loving something or someone. There is a process that feelings follow. We do however find ourselves involved in the process when we're attracted to and/or attached to objects of our affection. There is no such thing as any specific "people of color." Color comes from the properties of an object and how it reflects or emits light. Color is really a phenomena of light. All people have color; it varies in shade, hue and intensity. Does anyone have the right to select a particular range of colors to associate with any group of people? There is no such thing as "race." There is one race and that is the human race. The federal governments office of management and budget (OMB) defines 15 race categories. (grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/not-od-15-089.html) Click on the link to examine this information. As long as we're not referring to an athletic competition, who has the right to distinguish which hue of skin wins or is superior? There is nothing that is tangible that's really "free." This is a play on words. When we buy one and get one for free or we accept a free trial or introductory offer, we fool ourselves into thinking that something for or from nothing is possible. Freedom requires effort. We can be set free, made free and even be free to do. But there is a price that has been or must be paid. There is a cost to be the boss. Freedom does not come alone. Freedom walks hand in hand with responsibility. Freedom is the first cousin of liberty. Our souls are being corrupted, bound up by spiritual wickedness and held in captivity by the devil. The price for our freedom has been paid through and with the blood of Jesus. There is no such thing as "fake news." Have we not learned from history? News is simply new occurrences. Just breaking down the word is enlightening. Let's examine the word. It's "news" if it is truly additional and/or new. That's what news means. The definition of the word is a report, announcement or story containing information not previously known. Prior to now, news was considered to be good news or bad news, either we believed it or we didn't. The news did not have any attributes or qualifications; its source and its recipients gave it validity. Belief is based on trust. We all must acknowledge that once we define something we limit and confine it within the words of that definition. Biblical names carry certain definitions and meanings. We may describe things from multiple perspectives and still not express the proper accolades related to it. There are unlimited ways to describe the majesty of God but there are no names or words that can adequately define "him" God.
