KEEP IN MIND THAT THE SUMMARIES OMIT DELICATE DETAILS THAT ENRICH ENLIGHTENMENT.
ALZHEIMER' S: THE PHASES & STAGESAlzheimer's disease, called the slow death, typically progresses through three major phases. The first, earliest phase is usually referred to as mild, the middle as moderate and the late as severe. These phases reflect how much a person's symptoms interfere with their ability to do everyday activities. THERE ARE SEVEN CLINICAL STAGES ALSO KNOWN AS THE GLOBAL DETERIOATION SCALE (DTS). THESE STAGES WERE DEVELOPED AND PIONEERED BY DR. BARRY REISBERG OF N.Y.U. THESE BECAME THE GUIDELINES FOR CAREGIVERS AND PROFESSIONALS. STAGES 1-3 ARE CONSIDERED TO BE PRE-DEMENTIA STAGES. STAGES 4-7 ARE CONSIDERED TO BE THE MOST NOTABLE DEMENTIA STAGES. STAGE 5 IS CONSIDERED THE POINT AT WHICH A PERSON CAN NO LONGER LIVE WITHOUT MONITORING AND ASSISTANCE. [LINK] There are multiple early warning signs of dementia we Should not ignore. The symptoms can vary widely from person to person and may not indicate what we think they mean. Never-the-less, these are some telltale indicators. Short-term memory loss could mean something. If we forget the name of an actor or singers in the programs we just saw or the song we just heard it's, one thing. If we forget about the experience altogether it's another. Any significant lapse, especially when it comes to recent events is concerning. When we have difficulty interacting with others or just want to be by ourselves, we may be setting the stage for a decline. Social disconnection can shorten our lives by about as much as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. The signs can be complicated. Loneliness and isolation affect everything from inflammation levels in our bodies to the odds that we’ll exercise, eat well or get to a hospital if we fall ill. A progressive or worsening sense of direction can also occur with dementia. This can manifest in things like difficulty with driving and getting lost in familiar environments. A loss of confidence can cause us to restrict our driving to very familiar, close destinations and low-speed, low-traffic situations, and good weather only. If we are being told by family or friends that we're repeating questions and/or stories and statements in a short timeframe, without seeming to realize it take note. If they tell us that we just asked that same question and it was answered, that's a red flag. We’ve all experienced a time or two when we fight with our brain to find the right word, even though it’s on the tip-of-the-tongue. That's normal. If it’s happening a lot and we're substituting or adding words that don’t fit the conversation, that’s concerning. If we begin to find routine or typical things requiring multitasking, like preparing a three-course meal, difficult to do or unsuccessful, this may be a sign that something more serious is at play. This might indicate that the brain's executive function is having issues. TEN COMMON MENTAL ILLNESSESWe can better understand Alzheimer's through familiarity with other similar types of brain and/or mind issues. it is advisable to have some basic knowledge of these ten (10) types of mental health d-i-s-o-r-d-e-r-s. Mental illnesses are as prevalent as physical illnesses. It might not be a stretch to assume that there are as many mental maladies as there are physical ones. Consider everything from anger and anxiousness to depression and exuberance as mental "states of being." When any state of our being gets scrambled or warped from its created intended order, it can be described as a disorder. In fact, a mental illness is defined as "a condition that affects a person's thinking, feelings or mood for a sustained period of time that negatively impacts them. Let's examine the top ten mental issues. Remember, that behind any personification, there can be multiple spirits in operation and at work! This doesn't mean that we can blame a spirit or spirits for everything that happens to us. However, keep in mind that spirits are lurking and waiting for any opportunity to express themselves through. Cuts, fractures, traumas and most types of "headaches" are natural/physical ailments that require medical attention. Still keep in mind that the invisible psychological and spiritual realms are thoroughly interconnected and can manifest in tangible and visible ways. Our intention in this post is to illustrate "their" connections to "our" mental disorders. Let's start with some symptoms that we all should be familiar with. (1) Anxiety disorders probably head the list of mental disorders. There are "GAD's," general anxiety disorders, "PD's," panic disorders, "SAD's," social anxiety disorders, "OCD's," obsessive compulsive disorders and more. To many of us these are everyday "stresses" we can usually deal with. We hope that anyone engaging with this post will see the correlation between mental maladies and spiritual realities. (2) Personality disorders can be categorized as behavioral, emotional and/or thought patterns that overwhelm an individual's ability to control them. They notably deviate from the expectations of that individual's culture and society. Just being different does not mean that someone has a personality disorder. There must be some significant distress caused by or resulting from the way such a person sees themselves, others and various situations. This speaks to the lack of an individual's ability to exercise authority over their own spirit. Maintaining the capacity to adjust to, adopt or abide within a standard ensures that we're in control. (3) The third of these common mental illnesses is called A.D.H.D. This is a disorder characterized by inabilities to concentrate, sit still, forgetfulness, restlessness and losing things. Individual symptoms can vary by age, gender and the type of A.D.H.D. Spirits can take advantage of our hyper-behaviors when we surrender our peace. The letters are an abbreviation for Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. There are three "recognized" types of this particular disorder. There is combined type A.D.H.D., there is impulsive/hyperactive type A.D.H.D. and there is inattentive and distractible type A.D.H.D. Most of us can recall a time in our lives when we've experienced one or more of these symptoms but still maintained order in our lives. Drugs/Medications are not the only treatments available for this condition, but they should be carefully considered. (4) Posttraumatic stress disorders are not new, just newly defined. The term "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)" was officially recognized in 1980 by the American Psychiatric Association. The idea that psychological trauma and shock, can and/or does occur following any significant traumatizing event has been documented throughout history. Car accidents, unexpected deaths, falls, natural disasters and unpleasant surprises fall under this category. We see this very often, particularly in soldiers experiencing combat, who suffer from what is called "shell shock." Our unhardened spirits can prove to be very delicate things. Stress is a psychological and spiritual reaction to trauma. What usually occurs after a situation abates or a danger passes is that the stress and trauma goes with it. If our spirit doesn't get the message, a prolonged fight, freeze or fight state may remain in place. Spirits often attach to emotions and can refuse to let go until we expel them; especially if they gained association through grief. (5) Depression can be seen as a "type" of a mood disorder. We all get discouraged from time to time. Faith and hope, which also have a spiritual dimension, can be lost during bouts of depression. Most people innately believe that eventually things will get better. Optimism provides a positive outlook even in negative circumstances. However, pessimism casts a shadow, even if the sun shines bright, without obstacles in its path or in sight. (6) Bipolar disorders are more than transitional mood changes. This disorder is characterized by both manic and depressive mood swings. The "manic" aspect is not necessarily a positive manifestation of energy although it can be. These "manic" episodes can cause feelings of extreme happiness, extreme irritability, or energized mental and/or physical activities. During manic stages, individuals can exert themselves performing tasks like cleaning repetitively, working excessively, talking unceasingly, racing thoughts, being irritable, acting out sexual promiscuity and going without sleep. At the other end of the spectrum, the "depressive" mood swing can cause them to feel hopeless, become totally unmotivated, bed-ridden, suicidal and fatigued. People suffering from this disorder can also suffer with weight, sleep and eating issues. Spirits of all sorts can take advantage of this inability to balance tasks and temperaments. (7) Eating disorders are almost as common as bipolar disorders. This problem is further helped along by America's destructive dietary dilemma and body image obsession. There are several types of eating disorders. Some of the most common include anorexia nervosa, characterized by a distorted body image that "usually" goes with excessively low body weight maintained by dieting and exercise. Bulimia nervosa, on the other hand is a binge eating, followed by purging disorder. Stuffing food down, feeling guilty and forcing vomiting are some of its trademarks. Avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) should be included in this short list too. With all of the diets promoted by institutions and celebrities its surprising that we don't see more of this disorder; or maybe we do? Other specified feeding and eating disorders (OSFED) and Eating Disorders Not Otherwise Specified ( EDNOS) round out the dietary diseases summarized here. In both of these cases there are behaviors, signs and symptoms similar to one or more of another eating disorder. (8) Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is another mental health condition and disorder that causes people to experience unwanted, recurring thoughts and feelings (obsessions) and/or repetitive behaviors (compulsions). This is a worry, panic and anxiety disorder. Although this malady is not as prevalent as others, it easily has significant spiritual earmarks. Cleaning, germs, counting and repetitive behaviors are not its only signs. The reality of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is anxiousness, rigid thinking and feelings of isolation. A desire for order is one basic human need that allows a restless human spirit to relax. (9)Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) begin in childhood but are usually diagnosed later on in life. Social interactions, learning and communication barriers are common challenges. Normal social cues and eye contact are often ignored or missed but this is not due to a lack of intelligence. We are designed as interdependent creatures, the construct of all life as we know it is such. Spiritually, we are also able to connect and interact with all of creation. These ties may not be obvious to everyone, but they are important. (10) Schizophrenia/Psychotic Disorders are not as rare as most think. Psychosis is a collection of symptoms that can affect the mind and cause anyone to lose touch with reality. It is estimated that one percent (1%) of the population will experience a psychotic break at some point in their lifetime. During psychotic episodes a person's thoughts and perceptions of reality are disrupted. They can easily mistake this as spiritual and/or supernatural experiences. Understanding that other spirits can take advantage of this state of mind is important because people affected by this disease may have difficulty recognizing what is real and what is not. So how does any of this relate to Alzheimer's? Anyone working with someone affected by Alzheimer's is likely to notice similarities to many of the diseases listed here. Most mental maladies follow matching spiritual threads. Our relationship with energy from environments, from food, from friends and our own beliefs is very important, it begins at birth and continues until death. Appetites, dreams, feelings, imaginations, impulses, urges and yearning must all be controlled, managed and trained. Spirits can and will take advantage of any kinks in our armor. Most of us have more than one Achilleas Heel! The lack of societal standards and the new normal of anything goes is hard to refute. We no longer insist on the need to teach ourselves or get instructions about how to train the psyche and exercise rule over our minds. The psyche involves the totality of the human mind. This includes both the conscious and unconscious parts. The psyche directs the body's reactions to its environment and must be controlled! Finding or making excuses for aberrant behavior is not classified as a mental illness but rather as a spiritual malady. Examining and exposing the spiritual side of conditions, diseases, disorders, businesses, governments, politics, medicines, religions and society is what we do in this forum. DRIVERS: the symptoms and signsAlzheimer's disease is not new. Getting old has become a business that allows exploits of both the people with these conditions and their families. This "so-called" brain disease is a form of dementia that has come into prominence over the last century. Also known as type 3 diabetes, it "seems" to be caused by an insulin intolerance. As an invisible mental disorder, it also has the characteristics of many spiritual maladies. As usual, the medical and scientific communities are only addressing the psychological and physical aspects of this condition. We've mentioned this before, and we will say it again. Each and EVERY "manifestation" society encounters within the physically visible realm also has an invisible spiritual force behind it in operation too! This is especially true with Alzheimer's disease. Are lifestyle changes in any way associated with this disease? Alzheimer's is a neurodegenerative "so-called" brain disease that usually starts slowly and progressively worsens. It is the cause of 60–70% of cases of dementia. The most common early signs and symptoms include difficulty in remembering recent events, such as where we're going, where we parked or recent conversations. As this disease advances, the symptoms can include problems with language, disorientation (including easily getting lost), mood swings, loss of motivation, self-neglect, and behavioral issues. Once our condition deteriorates further, we often withdraw from family, friends and society. Finally, after months to years of gradual decline our bodily functions are lost which ultimately leads to death. Although the speed of progression can vary, the average life expectancy following diagnosis is three to twelve years. There are two book we highly recommend. The first is "The 36 hour day" and the second is, "Alzheimer's Dementia What Now? Help and Hope for Caregivers, Family, and Friends." Dealing with someone afflicted by this dreaded condition is not easy. If fact most people are not cut out for it. This is no reason to throw up our hands in despair or to give up hope. Anyone who has not directly or indirectly dealt with someone afflicted by this malady will, sooner or later. We are not alarmist or fear-mongers, we are aggregators. Knowing what drives a disease is paramount to understanding how to address it. Anyone who believes in God, as the creator of all things should also acknowledge that we were created perfectly and designed to abide within a perfect environment. Everyone knows that we do not live in a perfect world. Everything is suffering including plants, animals, weather, mankind and all of nature. The Bible puts it this way, in Romans 8 verses 19 through 22. "(19) For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. (20) For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, (21) Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. (22) For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now." This means that our inheritance, this planet, was compromised through our disobedience. This includes all aspects of life including the material, mental, physical, social and spiritual dimensions. To gain further insight about the spiritual aspects of Alzheimer's we must draw a distinction between the brain and the mind. The two are closely related and intertwined. However, today's medical science is primarily centered around addressing the physical and biological aspect of the deterioration of the brain. Their perspective targets our body's brain as the primary cause and does not include the intangible mind. In the same manner that the natural connects to the spiritual through the power of words. There must also be a way that our brain connects to our minds through our senses. Medical science associates the resulting mental decline as a secondary symptom caused by molecular and cellular failures. In our studies, the relationship between Dementia and the "vagus nerve" is rarely if ever mentioned. The vagus nerve controls our bodies involuntary processes. This includes bladder movement, blood pressure, breathing, circulation, digestion, fertility, gut health, hearing, heartbeat, orgasms, speech, swallowing and taste. A healthy vagus nerve gives us access to parts of the brain linked to creativity, higher cognition and abstract thinking for making decisions. Without a properly functioning vagus nerve our primal instincts controlled by fear; like freeze, flight or fight responses can rule the day. Our brains are most certainly linked to our minds! This is why we must pursue spiritual science. Of course, our approach to this and many other issues is different, rather than seeing the brain as the primary cause, we see the mind as the main factor. To examine this premise from both a spiritual and psychological perspective we must carefully consider how the invisible intangible mind functions. The "PSYCHE" is "the totality of the human mind, including both the conscious and unconscious parts. It's the center of thought, feeling, and motivation, and it guides the body's reactions to its environment. The word "psyche" comes from the Greek word psykhe, which means "the soul, mind, spirit, or invisible animating entity which occupies the physical body." Although "mind" is a nebulous concept, in our opinion, the best description of how the mind operates comes from Sigmund Freud. Sigmund Freud's theory of psychoanalysis proposed that the way we behave is primarily influenced by unconscious memories, thoughts, and urges. This was probably Freud’s single most enduring and important idea. In 1923 Freud developed a personality theory that divided the PSYCHE into three parts. They are named the id, the ego, and the superego. He theorized that they each developed at different stages and times in our lives. Although he was skeptical of religion and spirituality, the very idea that he classified these three parts independently as systems, infers evidence of a spiritual realm whether he believed in one or not. His theory regarding the three parts of the PSYCHE as individual but interconnected systems still resonates in religious and psychological circles today. He stressed that they were not a part of the brain or considered to be physical or tangible in any way. However, they have influence within every important mental function. This brief description of the three parts illustrates their relationship to our conscious, preconscious/subconscious and unconscious thoughts. The instinctive largely unconscious id represents our impulsive drives and urges. These are managed and controlled by the conscious ego. whose job is to enforce the prohibitions and learned standards of the conscious super-ego. The id alone does not respect rules. The super-ego however, represents a person's conscience and their internalized standards of morality. The conscious ego's job is to allow our conscience instilled within the super-ego to integrate its prohibitions on the drives of the id. This may be confounding. Let's look at the way the Bible explains it. In Romans 7:14-24 the dilemma of the PSYCHE reconciling these three systems is mentioned. The three systems mentioned here bringing conflict of mind are the law the will and the flesh. (14) For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. (15) For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. (16) If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. (17) Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. (18) For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. (19) For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. (20) Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. (21) I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. (22) For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: (23) But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. (24) O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? This may appear to be as complicated as Freud's theory, but it corresponds with the Apostle Paul's analysis of the same quandary. This "pickle" is a spiritual conflict inherited at birth. These posts focus on the spiritual side of our existence. Delving into the spiritual sciences with a carnal mind can prove to be quite difficult. THE SOCIAL DIMENSIONAll people need visible, audible, tactile stimulation on an ongoing consistent basis to remain healthy. As many of us get older we gradually withdraw from society. Some of behaviors are dementia enablers. Our tolerance of the stresses that come from various interactions with others can diminish even as our circle of friends also decreases. Although this "seemingly" helps our situation temporarily, this may be the first sign of a symptomatic distress. No man is an island! Socialization is a critical aspect of our existence. Even GOD recognized that man would be better suited and complete with a "help meet." And as a result, GOD created the woman who was specifically made for the man. This is the MAIN intent, purpose and design of ALL women. The institution of marriage addressed that social, psychological and spiritual need of men! Without female companionship a man's creative quiver is incomplete! Men NEED women to balance, help and temper them. Married couples can complement one another like no other earthly relationship can. When it comes to couples that have been together for a long time, how many times have we witnessed the quick demise of the second spouse after the first one passes? When the first spouse dies, the surviving partner usually experiences a significant emotional and psychological blow that can promote a physical decline. The grief and stress disrupt routine practices and makes them more vulnerable to mental, physical and spiritual health issues. This can potentially hasten the death of the surviving spouse shortly after. Even young people dealing with "crushes" and breakups during their initial experiences with "puppy love" can become so heartbroken that they feel the world is coming to an end. Although loneliness differs from being alone either of them can cause distress. Isolation and lack of routine can enable demise. Remember these four attributes of good health: be DESPerate at all times. Diet, Exercise Social and Purpose! TIPS FOR INTERACTNG WITH THE AFFLICTEDThere are some basic and even counter-intuitive principles to keep in mind when interacting with people suffering with mental and neurological disorders. This is a marathon not a sprint. Laymen and novices dealing with these types of diseases often create a disappointing scenario. Evaluating or trying to figure out what level of mental acuity someone is at requires discernment, expertise and insight. Many of us mistakenly blur the the line between clarity and ability based on a premise that mixes both short and long term memory characteristics. Instances of all kinds of memory reside and have unknown triggers. Asking, or quizzing loved one's memories with pictures and questions is usually not the best way to evaluate their condition. We can easily set both them and us up for failure. Do you remember me, do you remember my name, who am I and questions like this challenge the condition rather than inciting or spurring a memory. Friends, laymen and loved ones underestimate the cognitive reserve that our neuroplastic brains possess. Having a mission and something to accomplish or do often stimulates breakthroughs that may be short lived or can be repetitively recalled in Alzheimer's patients. Singing a song or humming a tune have vibratory and mentally stimulating effects. Moments of clarity and lucidity can be sporadic and triggered by unexpected factors like anger, hugs, laughs, news, sounds and voice pitch. One of the worse scenarios is having nothing to do; no schedule, no stimulus and no sense of accomplishment. There are spirits in operation and the environment they're in often plays a major role in a patients response. Getting out into nature and out of an institution can refresh the mind in ways that we may not understand. THE PHYSICAL RAMIFICATIONSIt is vital to understand and keep in mind that Alzheimer's is primarily a mental disease. Although this "Slow Death" eventually reaches a physical stage of effects, much of that can be postponed and delayed. Circadian rhythms continue to play an important part in our lives regardless of our mental and/or physical status. Circadian rhythms are the pattern our bodies follow based on a 24-hour day. This is the name given to our body's internal clock. This rhythm tells our bodies when to sleep and when to wake up. It also affects several other body processes, like hormones, digestion and body temperature. It’s the tiny conductor inside our bodies that regularly performs a 24-hour symphony of biological music. all of nature is involved in this timing. This is why as we age it is important to get outdoors every day even if the weather is inclement. Keeping plants or having pets' aids in synchronizing our lives naturally and promotes better health. Get these people outside in the sun and the breeze every day! Our bodies set our circadian rhythm naturally, guided by our brains. But outside factors, like light, can affect the rhythm, too. For example, when light enters our eyes, cells send a message to our brain that it can stop producing melatonin (a hormone that helps us sleep). The environments we find ourselves in play a critical role in the way we act and feel. Healthy environments are characterized by more than just their air, landscape and waterways. There is growing evidence to suggest that exposure to natural environments can be associated with mental health benefits. Clean air, water, and green spaces can enhance people’s quality of life. Mental health issues rank among the 10 largest non-fatal threats in most countries. Nature is more than what we observe. Nature is the collective phenomena of all physical manifestation as well as the spiritual forces in operation behind it. Being in sync with the greater sideral movements of the universe mentally and physically is vital when dealing with Alzheimer's. Sleeping throughout the day and a lack of consistent walking along with other range of motion exercises accelerates the demise from this disease. Muscular atrophy is the wasting or thinning of muscle mass. There can be multiple causes. Disuse (physiologic) atrophy is a byproduct of not using our muscles enough. If we stop using our muscles, our bodies will divert the energy needed to take care of them. As a result, the body will start to break down our muscles, take energy from them and they will decrease in size and strength. This along with other factors precipitates the increased likelihood of the dreaded fall. Allowing people with Alzheimer's and Dementia to sit and or lay around all day is a death sentence! They require more than just assistance and monitoring; they must engage in daily physical therapy. Physical activity improves mental health, increases social skills, promotes restful sleep, prevents obesity along with a host of other benefits. Regular consistent daily activity must be at the top of the list of priorities right along with safety. Securing, rather confining, our loved ones, without a plan for maintaining them is either a dereliction of duty or plain ole ignorance! We should not depend on the facilities and institutions we house them in to implement these procedures, we should insist and check to make sure they are engaging in these practices with all their patients. In most cases, if we don't, they won't. The pineal gland must be paid specific attention. Unlike most brain structures the pineal gland is unpaired, there is only one. The function that is most linked to the pineal gland is the secretion of a hormone called melatonin. Melatonin is best known for its role in regulating circadian rhythms. The schedule of melatonin secretion is regulated by signals from the retina about light in the environment. Our Circadian rhythm is the pattern our bodies follow based on a 24-hour day. It’s the name given to our body’s internal clock. This rhythm tells our body when to sleep and when to wake up. It also affects several other body processes like blood pressure, hormones, digestion and body temperature. Melatonin levels should be highest during the hours of darkness. Melatonin activity can be used to signal that circadian rhythms are in their nocturnal stage. If melatonin levels are high and someone is still wide awake, it indicates that their circadian rhythms are not in sync. The pineal gland (light and darkness gland) activated by light produces serotonin, and in darkness activates melatonin. Sunlight is therapeutic! Light therapies using infrared and near infrared light and even incandescent ultraviolet light have been proven to be somewhat effective if the best source from sunshine cannot be accessed. Proximity to greenspace "earthing and grounding" have been associated with lower levels of stress and reduced symptomology for depression and anxiety. We know that interacting with nature can improve cognition for children with attention deficits and individuals with depression. Anyone who has ever spent time at a beach without going in for a swim should have experienced the cathartic relaxing effect of the waves endlessly breaking against the shore. A 2014 epidemiological study has shown that people who move to greener urban areas benefit from sustained improvements in their mental health. “It is becoming increasingly evident that the 2.2 million years our genus has spent in natural environments are consequential to modern mental health. The accumulating strength of research from multiple disciplines makes it difficult to dismiss the clinical relevancy of natural environments in 21st century mental health care. There are various geographical locations, hot springs, lakes, lava pools and mountains that by just visiting them promotes healing and restorative energies within us. Let's unite nurturing with nature! GET THEM OUTSIDE! THE MENTAL RAMIFICATIONSThere's always a conversation going on inside our heads. This does not change with Alzheimer's or Dementia. We need to believe in what we perceive in order to maintain our sanity. We can find it through external and/or internal sources. The internal dialogue must be convincing enough, not only for us to believe it personally, but for others to believe it too. Cognitive and confirmation biases introduced into the conversation allows us to valid beliefs through our own reality. The inner conversation continues for us all. It is even better when we get agreement that include other people or other sources within the ongoing dialogue. Confirmation bias takes on a unique aspect when our minds get mixed up. Confirmation Bias is similar to the computer search algorithms we encounter every day. This bias deliberately finds similar information and topics along our usual interests. This reinforces what we already believe, true or not! The tendency to seek out, interpret and embrace information in a manner that confirms our existing beliefs is confirmation bias. This bias has a first cousin that can operate cooperatively or independently called cognitive bias. It is a cognitive bias that can lead us to extremely fixed inaccurate conclusions. Dementia allows us to take this one step further. Even without finding external reinforcements we can use "cognitive biases" to replace any lack of evidence. Cognitive biases are systematic errors in thinking derived by patterns of deviation from normal rational judgments. We can all fall victim to this problem when we create our own "subjective realities." THE SPIRITUAL RAMIFICATIONSThe important spiritual aspects of mental diseases should not be overlooked. Spirits have domains. They operate in both physical and virtual spaces. Physical spaces like Assisted living and or Nursing homes are usually infested with the energy of their presence. Virtual spaces within the human mind are often infiltrated by adverse spiritual energy too. We can see these manifestations in people and places everywhere when we become sensitive to their presence. Although many people suffering from the afflictions of dementia have compromised mental and physical abilities their invisible sensory (spiritual) faculties usually remain intact but conflicted. This takes us back to the Freudian model discussed earlier. The struggle to maintain balance within the PSYCHE can become quite obvious. The unruly Id can rise to the surface and be exploited by the general spirit of our temperament. If we are easy going and laid back that disposition can take center stage. If we are aggressive and intense that facet of our personality can emerge with a vengeance. This is especially true with dementia. The previously suppressed real complexion is easy to recognize, and the disposal become obvious. A once "hidden" character can emerge that seems so unlike the person exhibiting it, that we wonder if it's really them. This is where spiritual discernment goes hand in hand with spiritual authority. We do not have to accept the baser manifestations exhibited, but we're going to need to exercise a lot of patience and persistence to wait them out! Dealing compassionately with them and authoritatively with the spirit behind the behavior is the key! Remember, invisible spirits can operate on the invisible mind behind the scenes to harass both us and them. These spirits know us too! These spirits can take us down innumerable rabbit holes if we are spiritually naive enough to go there! They know what buttons to push, and if we forget what and who we are battling against, we are likely to take it personally! Understanding gives us insight into our undertakings. Don't quit, get back in the battle! REMEDIES REVERSALS |

A 2019 PEW RESEARCH SURVEY CONDUCTED AMONG BOTH Democrats and Republicans FOUND THAT 91% OF THE PARTICIPANTS overwhelmingly agreeD that ALL political leaders should be honest and ethical. DO we like choosing sides rather than standing for principles? iSN't IT easier AND SIMPLER TO ASSIGN BLAME TO THE OPPONENT OR THE ENEMY? AS ELECTION TIME APPROACHES PEOPLE WILL BE VOTING FOR THEIR CANDIDATE AND/OR IN THEIR MINDS AGAINST THE OTHER SIDE. MANY WILL BE SIMPLY CHOOSING THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS.
WE CANNOT TREAT LEGALITY AND MORALITY AS UNRELLATED SUBJECTS. Starting in the 1990s, the public saw an increasing number of commercials and messaging about recycling plastic. "The bottle may look empty, yet it's anything but trash," says one ad from 1990 showing a plastic bottle bouncing out of a garbage truck. "It's full of potential. ... We've pioneered the country's largest, most comprehensive plastic recycling program to help plastic fill valuable uses and roles." These commercials carried a distinct message: Plastic is special, and the consumer should recycle it. It may have sounded like an environmentalist's message, but the ads were paid for by the plastics industry, made up of companies like Exxon, Chevron, Dow, DuPont and their lobbying and trade organizations in Washington. Industry companies spent tens of millions of dollars on these ads and ran them for years, promoting the benefits of a product that, for the most part, was buried, was burned or, in some cases, wound up in the ocean. Documents show industry officials knew this reality about recycling plastic as far back as the 1970s. Many of the industry's old documents are housed in libraries, such as the one on the grounds of the first DuPont family home in Delaware. Others are with universities, where former industry leaders sent their records. At Syracuse University, there are boxes of files from a former industry consultant. And inside one of them is a report written in April 1973 by scientists tasked with forecasting possible issues for top industry executives. Recycling plastic, it told the executives, was unlikely to happen on a broad scale. "There is no recovery from obsolete products," it says. It says pointedly: Plastic degrades with each turnover. "A degradation of resin properties and performance occurs during the initial fabrication, through aging, and in any reclamation process," the report told executives.
Recycling plastic is quite "costly," it says, and sorting it, the report concludes, is "infeasible." And there are more documents, echoing decades of this knowledge, including one analysis from a top official at the industry's most powerful trade group. "The costs of separating plastics ... are high," he tells colleagues, before noting that the cost of using oil to make plastic is so low that recycling plastic waste "can't yet be justified economically." Larry Thomas, the former president of the Society of the Plastics Industry, worked side by side with top oil and plastics executives. He's retired now, on the coast of Florida where he likes to bike, and feels conflicted about the time he worked with the plastics industry. "I did what the industry wanted me to do, that's for sure," he says. "But my personal views didn't always jibe with the views I had to take as part of my job." Thomas took over back in the late 1980s, and back then, plastic was in a crisis. There was too much plastic trash. The public was getting upset. In one document from 1989, Thomas calls executives at Exxon, Chevron, Amoco, Dow, DuPont, Procter & Gamble and others to a private meeting at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington. "The image of plastics is deteriorating at an alarming rate," he wrote. "We are approaching a point of no return." He told the executives they needed to act. The "viability of the industry and the profitability of your company" are at stake. Thomas remembers now. "The feeling was the plastics industry was under fire — we got to do what it takes to take the heat off, because we want to continue to make plastic products," he says. At this time, Thomas had a co-worker named Lew Freeman. He was a vice president of the lobbying group. He remembers many of the meetings like the one in Washington. "The basic question on the table was, You guys as our trade association in the plastic industry aren't doing enough — we need to do more," Freeman says. "I remember this is one of those exchanges that sticks with me 35 years later or however long it's been ... and it was what we need to do is ... advertise our way out of it. That was the idea thrown out." So began the plastics industry's $50 million-a-year ad campaign promoting the benefits of plastic. "Presenting the possibilities of plastic!" one iconic ad blared, showing kids in bike helmets and plastic bags floating in the air. "This advertising was motivated first and foremost by legislation and other initiatives that were being introduced in state legislatures and sometimes in Congress," Freeman says, "to ban or curb the use of plastics because of its performance in the waste stream." At the same time, the industry launched a number of feel-good projects, telling the public to recycle plastic. It funded sorting machines, recycling centers, nonprofits, even expensive benches outside grocery stores made out of plastic bags. Few of these projects actually turned much plastic into new things.
NPR tracked down almost a dozen projects the industry publicized starting in 1989. All of them shuttered or failed by the mid-1990s. Mobil's Massachusetts recycling facility lasted three years, for example. Amoco's project to recycle plastic in New York schools lasted two. Dow and Huntsman's highly publicized plan to recycle plastic in national parks made it to seven out of 419 parks before the companies cut funding. None of them was able to get past the economics: Making new plastic out of oil is cheaper and easier than making it out of plastic trash. Both Freeman and Thomas, the head of the lobbying group, say the executives all knew that. "There was a lot of discussion about how difficult it was to recycle," Thomas remembers. "They knew that the infrastructure wasn't there to really have recycling amount to a whole lot." Even as the ads played and the projects got underway, Thomas and Freeman say industry officials wanted to get recycling plastic into people's homes and outside on their curbs with blue bins. The industry created a special group called the Council for Solid Waste Solutions and brought a man from DuPont, Ron Liesemer, over to run it. Liesemer's job was to at least try to make recycling work — because there was some hope, he said, however unlikely, that maybe if they could get recycling started, somehow the economics of it all would work itself out. "I had no staff, but I had money," Liesemer says. "Millions of dollars." Liesemer took those millions out to Minnesota and other places to start local plastic recycling programs. But then he ran into the same problem all the industry documents found. Recycling plastic wasn't making economic sense: There were too many different kinds of plastic, hundreds of them, and they can't be melted down together. They have to be sorted out. "Yes, it can be done," Liesemer says, "but who's going to pay for it? Because it goes into too many applications, it goes into too many structures that just would not be practical to recycle." Liesemer says he started as many programs as he could and hoped for the best. "They were trying to keep their products on the shelves," Liesemer says. "That's what they were focused on. They weren't thinking what lesson should we learn for the next 20 years. No. Solve today's problem." And Thomas, who led the trade group, says all of these efforts started to have an effect:
The message that plastic could be recycled was sinking in. "I can only say that after a while, the atmosphere seemed to change," he says. "I don't know whether it was because people thought recycling had solved the problem or whether they were so in love with plastic products that they were willing to overlook the environmental concerns that were mounting up." But as the industry pushed those public strategies to get past the crisis, officials were also quietly launching a broader plan. In the early 1990s, at a small recycling facility near San Diego, a man named Coy Smith was one of the first to see the industry's new initiative. Back then, Smith ran a recycling business. His customers were watching the ads and wanted to recycle plastic. So Smith allowed people to put two plastic items in their bins: soda bottles and milk jugs. He lost money on them, he says, but the aluminum, paper and steel from his regular business helped offset the costs. But then, one day, almost overnight, his customers started putting all kinds of plastic in their bins. "The symbols start showing up on the containers," he explains. Smith went out to the piles of plastic and started flipping over the containers. All of them were now stamped with the triangle of arrows — known as the international recycling symbol — with a number in the middle. He knew right away what was happening. "All of a sudden, the consumer is looking at what's on their soda bottle and they're looking at what's on their yogurt tub, and they say, 'Oh well, they both have a symbol. Oh well, I guess they both go in,' " he says. The bins were now full of trash he couldn't sell. He called colleagues at various recycling facilities all across the country. They reported having the same problem. Industry documents from this time show that just a couple of years earlier, starting in 1989, oil and plastics executives began a quiet campaign to lobby almost 40 states to mandate that the symbol appear on all plastic — even if there was no way to economically recycle it. Some environmentalists also supported the symbol, thinking it would help separate plastic. Smith said what it did was make all plastic look recyclable. "The consumers were confused," Smith says. "It totally undermined our credibility, undermined what we knew was the truth in our community, not the truth from a lobbying group out of D.C." But the lobbying group in D.C. knew the truth in Smith's community too. A report given to top officials at the Society of the Plastics Industry in 1993 told them about the problems. "The code is being misused," it says bluntly. "Companies are using it as a 'green' marketing tool." The code is creating "unrealistic expectations" about how much plastic can actually be recycled, it told them. Smith and his colleagues launched a national protest, started a working group and fought the industry for years to get the symbol removed or changed. They lost. "We don't have manpower to compete with this," Smith says. "We just don't. Even though we were all dedicated, it still was like, can we keep fighting a battle like this on and on and on from this massive industry that clearly has no end in sight of what they're able to do and willing to do to keep their image the image they want." "It's pure manipulation of the consumer," he says. In response, industry officials told NPR that the code was only ever meant to help recycling facilities sort plastic and was not intended to create any confusion.
Without question, plastic has been critical to the country's success. It's cheap and durable, and it's a chemical marvel. It's also hugely profitable. The oil industry makes more than $400 billion a year making plastic, and as demand for oil for cars and trucks declines, the industry is telling shareholders that future profits will increasingly come from plastic. And if there was a sign of this future, it's a brand-new chemical plant that rises from the flat skyline outside Sweeny, Texas. It's so new that it's still shiny, and inside the facility, the concrete is free from stains. This plant is Chevron Phillips Chemical's $6 billion investment in new plastic. "We see a very bright future for our products," says Jim Becker, the vice president of sustainability for Chevron Phillips, inside a pristine new warehouse next to the plant. "These are products the world needs and continues to need," he says. "We're very optimistic about future growth." With that growth, though, comes ever more plastic trash. But Becker says Chevron Phillips has a plan: It will recycle 100% of the plastic it makes by 2040. Becker seems earnest. He tells a story about vacationing with his wife and being devastated by the plastic trash they saw. When asked how Chevron Phillips will recycle 100% of the plastic it makes, he doesn't hesitate. "Recycling has to get more efficient, more economic," he says. "We've got to do a better job, collecting the waste, sorting it. That's going to be a huge effort." Fix recycling is the industry's message too, says Steve Russell, the industry's recent spokesman. "Fixing recycling is an imperative, and we've got to get it right," he says. "I understand there is doubt and cynicism. That's going to exist. But check back in. We're there." Larry Thomas, Lew Freeman and Ron Liesemer, former industry executives, helped oil companies out of the first plastic crisis by getting people to believe something the industry knew then wasn't true: That most plastic could be and would be recycled. Russell says this time will be different. "It didn't get recycled because the system wasn't up to par," he says. "We hadn't invested in the ability to sort it and there hadn't been market signals that companies were willing to buy it, and both of those things exist today." But plastic today is harder to sort than ever:
There are more kinds of plastics today and it's cheaper to make plastic out of oil than making plastic from what is trashed. There is exponentially more of it than 30 years ago. And during those 30 years, oil and plastic companies made billions of dollars in profit as the public consumed ever more quantities of plastic. Russell doesn't dispute that. "And during that time, our members have invested in developing the technologies that have brought us where we are today," he says. "We are going to be able to make all of our new plastic out of existing municipal solid waste in plastic." Recently, an industry advocacy group funded by the nation's largest oil and plastic companies launched its most expensive effort yet to promote recycling and cleanup of plastic waste. There's even a new ad. "We have the people that can change the world," it says to soaring music as people pick up plastic trash and as bottles get sorted in a recycling center. Freeman, the former industry official, recently watched the ad. "Déjà vu all over again," he says as the ad finishes. "This is the same kind of thinking that ran in the '90s. I don't think this kind of advertising is, is helpful at all." Larry Thomas said the same. "I don't think anything has changed," Thomas says. "Sounds exactly the same." These days as Thomas bikes down by the beach, he says he spends a lot of time thinking about the oceans and what will happen to them in 20 or 50 years, long after he is gone. And as he thinks back to those years he spent in conference rooms with top executives from oil and plastic companies, what occurs to him now is something he says maybe should have been obvious all along. He says what he saw was an industry that didn't want recycling to work. Because if the job is to sell as much oil as you possibly can, any amount of recycled plastic is competition. "You know, they were not interested in putting any real money or effort into recycling because they wanted to sell virgin material," Thomas says. "Nobody that is producing a virgin product wants something to come along that is going to replace it. Produce more virgin material — that's their business." And they are. Analysts now expect plastic production to triple by 2050.

THE "THERE IS NO GOD"OR DEVIL LIE
THE GENDER LIE
HONESTY AND INTEGRITY
WITH OPEN EYES TO REALIZE how LIES BREED LIKE FLIES
When we become so engaged in managing how others perceive us, we gradually lose the capacity to separate truth from fiction in our own minds. Too many of us fail to realize or acknowledge that lying is a spirit! Remember, spirits are invisible influences that manifest their attributes in the visible world. Lying is a fascinating "art!" As with most things in life, the more we practice lying the better we get at it. Behind every lie sits the truth in disguise. Our expressions in life are a reflection of the physical, mental or spiritual attributes of whatever we consistently engage in. Alcoholism and drug addiction may not be noticed initially but in time the attributes and behaviors tend to be apparent. In like manner we all eventually become the LIE we live and tell. "Birds of a feather flock together" has both natural and spiritual implications. The cliche "you are what you eat" goes well beyond food. We are more of what we think and say more than anything else! The spirit of a lie is infectious. Whenever we believe a lie, we strengthen it and become a part of that lie which makes us liars as well. How is it that slavery was ever accepted, embraced and legalized by society? The answer is simple. People allowed or believed the lie, that all men were not created equal. All lies are birthed to benefit the liars. Anyone capable or eligible of sharing in a lie will find it much easier to adopt and succor that lie for personal benefit. It is important to realize that lying is a part of our nature. It is inherently in us and a part of a life long battle. Perhaps the "Theory of Mind," a by-product of studying autism can explain why we lie even when we don't have to. As humans why must we be compelled to tell the truth? This is why our courts require us to tell "the truth, the whole truth and NOTHING but the truth."
ONLY A STANDARD CAN STAND AGAINST THE LAYERS OF LIES
A LIE BY ANY OTHER NAME OR DEFINITION IS STILL A LIE!
We should not be apathetic! A state of "apathy" can be construed, defined and explained as a lack of interest in truth. We'll pull no punches with lying because that's exactly what lying is. Elections, specifically presidential ones fill many voters with cognitive dissonance. Cognitive dissonance occurs when a person's behavior and beliefs do not complement each other or when they hold two contradictory beliefs. Our first loyalty should be to truth. We are all involved but not all aware that many of the systems operating inside our society are insidiously perpetrating a LIE.
Whenever a society systematically fails to embrace the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, the premise it stands upon is compromised. Everything built upon that foundational premise is subject to its weaknesses. The seed will always contain the substance of it's source. When a seed sprouts it automatically replicates the characteristics of its bearer. We as "seeds" shaped in iniquity are predisposed to yield defective fruit. If the leaders in government, entertainment, medicine, religion, science, sports and culture(s) are deceived, their defects will be passed down to us. Our sources and standards of ethical, moral and spiritual nutrition are fading. Our generation is being guided by a multimedia driven immoral criterion. Our behaviors indicate that we are being nurtured by spiritual pigs. It reveals itself in our eating and socializing habits. If no other animal loves dirt and mud like a pig does, then why are our minds, messages and mentors so nasty? If a human being is raised by wolves that person will develop wolf like habits. If a spiritual being is raised in a carnal way it will be reflected in their thinking, talking and doing. Patronizing perverted principles always promotes more perversion. Whenever something is altered from its original course, meaning, or state to a distortion or corruption of what was first intended, it is called perversion. LET'S STATE IT PLAINLY! The Bible puts it this way; "have NO fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret." Where is our shame? We already know that those perverted practitioners have none. We also know that association breeds assimilation! The "layers of LIES" propagated by corrupted words and actions are perpetually promoting ungodly acts and lifestyles. All LIES are based on a compromised or false premise. Only parents and hypocrites preach, "do what I say, not what I do!" We are overlooking criminal behavior, believing in LIARS and excusing infractions based on peoples personality or popularity. We have wolves tending the sheep and they are exploiting them. No one is perfect, but anyone incapable of acknowledging or admitting to imperfections and shortcomings is actively and overtly "living a lie." We will discover that we are "living a lie" too when we turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to obvious and open corruption. Our votes are more of a multiple choice test rather than an essay answer on commitment. Where our votes end is where our responsibilities begin. Our printed currency says, in God we trust; not in the dead patriots or present president. A lie is the truth less some punches pulled, less some facts overlooked, less some info ignored or less some data obscured. Although a lie is simply a lie we can site many of the layers in them. There are two (2) basic types of lies; "intentional and unintentional." Not that the "unintentional" ones are not thought up in the same manner as the "intentional" ones. It's rather that they tend to be mostly so called "spur of the moment" termed as "non-premeditated" soft lies. Whether intentional or unintentional , there is no lie worthy of the unrighteous behavior it yields, no matter the noble cause, intent or purpose behind it. We lie to perpetuate and/or protect our position. Lying allows us to posture ourselves or others favorably. Whether it's a lie of denial, exaggeration, fabrication, minimization or omission it is still a lie. Humor, jesting or joking should not involve lying. Lying is so contagious, that if it is not detected and eradicated at its earliest stages will spread in some "form" or another even among those who it is used against. In the biblical depiction of creation, the first lie was told by the serpent to Eve and by the time that lie had spread, Adam was lying to God! Let's break it all down. From the two basic types of lies which are intentional/premeditated lies and unintentional/spur of moment lies; there are 3 real motives for lying. These reasons are (1) to save face, (2) to make face or (3) not to face it at all. In addition to that there are four (4) basic ways to lie. These four ways can be characterized as deceitfully done, done in a delusional way, done from a demoralized state or done in a duplicitous manner.
To top this off there have been multiple descriptions, names and titles given to lies throughout the years. The characteristics of many types of lies are often given "colorful" descriptions with cute and clever memorable phrases. We unwittingly embraced labels such as fibs, little white lies, yellow lies, pink lies, red lies, blue lies, barefaced lies, bald faced/bold faced lies and out and out lies. "Innocent" Fibs are usually characterized as harmless lies. Little white lies are generally used to spare someone's feelings. Yellow lies are about "big things" that could potentially save someone's future, life or career. Pink lies are excusable, venial or appear to have some praiseworthy motive. Red lies are done with complete awareness of their purpose to cause harm even at the expense of the liar. Although known to be a lie by both parties, this type of lie circumvents applying reality to it. The "blue lie" is more than a "law enforcement" or "fraternal order" practice. "A “blue lie" is a psychologist's term for falsehoods, told on behalf of a group, that can actually strengthen the bonds among the members of that group." Barefaced lies are so blatant that the confidence in which they are told defies any doubt of their validity. Baldfaced/boldfaced lies are the bold ones usually labeled by those being lied to. Out and out lies are the type easily recognized by most people due to their outrageous disregard for common sense and intelligence. We have developed so many "colorful phases and phrases" for lying that many lies are no longer regarded as lies. We now pretend and ignore many colors and flavors of lies. We live in a world full of pretenders.
A "pretender" is simply a self deceived glorified liar who knows how to avoid facing reality. The concept, idea or notion that there is a devil, whether existing as a person or a personification, cannot be over emphasized. The spiritual trends of the day speak volumes. People are not just suddenly losing it. We are in the midst of a spiritual warfare. The next mass shooting or atrocity is just around the corner. The Devils main weapon is deception combined with darkness (ignorance). The Devil, the father of lies, the author of the art of the lie; is an expert and much more of a "tactical liar" then we are. The Devils lies are "TRUE LIES." These lies are mingled with enough truth to believe them. Every lie the devil gets us to embrace contains some insidious characteristic that seduces us enough to compromise some small bit of truth. This newly "Contaminated truth" is precisely what is being weaponized against us today. ACKNOWLEDGE IT!
NO MATTER HOW IT HAPPENS A LIE IS STILL A LIE!
Many people are unaware that they may be practicing some form of "living a lie" in some layer and at some level. What is the color of our lies we catch ourselves in?
THE NINTH COMMANDMENT SAYS. "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." If we speak falsely in any matter including lying or equivocating we violate God's law. If in any way we devise, design or scheme deception it constitute lying. Who is our neighbor? Ask any good Samaritan. Our neighbor includes any and everybody.
LIARS & HYPOCRITES SHARE THE SAME DOMAIN
LIES ARE CREATIONS: BOTH TOLD AND MADE
STATISTICS denied or ignored can always be reinvented
The creation of lies by man runs a close second to the creation of man by God!
WE CAN SEE THROUGH ALL THE LIES IF WE DO NOT LIVE A LIE !
Baring our souls and facing shortcomings or mistakes is being penalized. Honesty and integrity are being substituted with deception and duplicity. It is easy to decipher the exact instant that a lie is created. Lies are always formed before they are told. Our imaginations and thinking process make and form what potentially become lies way before we establish them by stating and voicing them. Lying is almost effortless. It is the fastest and easiest way of circumventing responsibility known to man. Truth is straight forward and candid. Pretending is just a sophisticated name for a lie. Lying spirits are some of the easiest spirits to discern. The litmus paper test for lies is the yea yea / nay nay test. Communicating is a direct and explicit act. All of nature is talking and signalling among and between one another. Exchange is the way of life. There is no time for miscommunication or fake messages in the animal kingdom. Man is the only creature able to lie. Man is also the only creature capable of exercising higher language skills. lies are very easily discerned. Lies are detected and discovered, not by knowing all of the characteristics of various lies, but by primarily knowing and embracing the transparency of truth. Lies have no life of their own. Lies are quickened (made alive) by telling, showing and sharing them. Like viruses, they can only live off of a host that allows them to spread to others. Once the host dies the lie dies with it. When we believe a lie we actually live into "it" whether we tell anyone or not. Lies have life, become spirit and emit the energy needed to perpetuate themselves. It takes a long litany of lies just to sustain a single age old lie like, "the devil does not exist." Once a lie is developed and built, it needs a willing host to sustain it. Modern technology along with the laws and principles of "network effects" have accelerated the effects of lying in ways we never imagined. Lying has permeated all of society and we are facing a "crisis of consciousness." Lying is no longer a social pariah and its acceptance is intermingled in every aspect of our existence. Today's attitude is to never let truth get in the way of a good story. ACKNOWLEDGE IT!
As participating liars we unintentionally lower our standards of truth and help perpetuate deceit.
STOP LIVING THE LIE!
Our PET (prime) LIE, the one we live into, has to be discovered and abruptly stopped or gradually peeled away. There's time to plant and there is a time to pluck up what's been planted. "But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” Matthew 13: 25-30
